e85 mixing no mods

No vacuum leak. I would bet the car on that. Lol its a 2007 with only 50k miles on it. It runs like day 1. If not better with the 50/50 mix. Also are u sure your not mixing a idle pic with a 3,000rpm pic? Or is it on the same pic?

so the LTFT's are maxed, which means it's probably trying to dump even more fuel in. This whole thing sounds like a terrible idea.

It should be trying to dump more fuel in since more ethanol is in the gas mixture to try to maintain 14.68 AFR however it's more like 17-18 with added ethanol and untuned. And going wot its running really lean

Please enlighten us on how you figured this.:th_scratchhead:

Iv gotten it over 24 multiple times in wot. These pics are ether idle (600rpm) or parked revd up to 3000rpms

how would a tune not change anything?

explain thoroughly in detail please. dont just reply with some sarcastic remark like your jesus christ or something. if you think you know something, explain it

heres a few more screenshots from about 2 mins ago. i bought 7 gallons of 93 and 7 gallons of E85 this morning.

On a side note the 5k rpm I was driving and holding it in first gear keeping a steady 5k rpm. It was not me just randomly taking screenshots.

Because the car is already making the changes that a custom tune would make.

Also, I don't think my reply's have been even remotely sarcastic, or Christlike.

but why not tune so the car is running optimum from the start, im not talking WOT tuning, im talking VE, IFR, Timing, so the car has room to make proper stoich adjustments

Cause a tune for a 2007 grand Prix is $400. And a dyno tune is $550. The 2007 pcm is NOT unlockable meaning it can not be messed with in any way.

The only way to tune a 2006-2008 grand Prix is to remove the pcm and out a old pcm from a 2004-2005 grand Prix then tune that pcm. When doing so you loss the new features that were add on 2006+ like factory remote start and a lot of the DIC info.

This being said I'm running a 50/50 mix so I don't use too much ethinal. The car runs fine even on 100%e85 but I get better gas milage when mixing.

I get to help support US farmers and not 3rd world oil company's.

I buy GM cars to help support america as much as I can and in todays day and age they don't make that easy. Buying fuel made by corn from us farmers is a easy way to help out. They work very very hard for not a hole lot of money.

All the screen shots from tourqe in the world do nothing to relay real engine data. You can show your trims but what fuel trim cell where you in at the exact same time as you displayed ? What's your injector duty cycle?

And as far as tunes go if the the stoich of e85 is 9.8 ish and the stoich of gasoline is 14.68 and that's not changed in your stoich AFR settings how in the hell does your pcm compensate that extra 30% fuel and than adding more for power enrichment? Luckily your not straight e85 or else you'd have some real issues right now.

IDK...money, time....could be lots of reasons. For the little gain involved and the ability to switch back to regular fuel without making any other changes, I don't see the benefit for a daily driven car.
