What did you do to your Car today?

Car.... kept the trac control off. I can do a better job without it. It's like a parent smacking your hand if one tire loses any traction.

Her 4 Runner.... wow talk about a killjoy vehicle. I need to find it's traction off. Could barely get 800 rpm before it cut engine power. That thing is pretty damn safe in 2wd, mainly because it won't let you move. Didn't like that. Felt over governed. And for Scotty.. WTF is up with newer vehicles not being able to go into 4wd on the move? Silverado FTMFW

Super Tractor.. threw the belt this morning.... pretty sure I tensioned it improperly upon install this year. :th_wtf:

It took me all of 10 minutes to swap the water pump on my old 3.1l GP. The guy at AZ was cool let me borrow tools and I had it banged out in no time.

Yeah - 3.1 is VERY easy for water pump changes. Had to do it on my GA GT a few times, and never had any issues either. Loved that set up.

Washed the dirty girl. Parked in my garage waiting for an interior detail now

Getting fresh 5w30 later toooo

Haven't seen it since Sunday. I actually miss it quiet a bit. I think it handles a lot better than the g6 does in the snow and crap.

any one got a preference on car battery brands? im giving up hope on mine cause it wont hold a charge good. after about a total of an hour of driving plus all the driving this week it still only has a 75% charge according to advance auto parts

i got a interstate as well. get your alt and battery tested with a load tester. see whats bad. also check all the cables, the one on the alt too.

not forsure. 1 time i went to get it tested and they said the regulator in alternator was bad...next day the battery was bad. I never get the same answer twice in a row. my voltage will vary from the normal 15.2v all the way down to 12.8v. and when the car is off my battery has been showing 11.9 volts which is low. and i cleaned off the corrosion off the battery at beginning of week when i got off ship and the terminal is covered in it again now. ill take a pic in the am to show ya the terminal.

11.9v while off isnt that low, its a 12 volt system and with things running inside the car, thats why its not over 12 volts.

Unless everything is off and you are using a DMM to see volts off the battery. But you still gotta figure it will never be 12.7 volts if something like a security system is running at all times.

As for the charging, it seems that all the 2004+ cars got a different alt/regulator that runs super wierd. I never get odd numbers like that in my 2000. It's always 14 to 14.5 when its cold and 13.5ish when everything is warmed up, no matter the loads on at that time.

I got a duralast gold batt with 5 year warranty from AutoZone haven't had a problem. With it for a year now.

battery doesnt have a date on it that i can find....sticker probably fell off. ffdp the car used to stay right at 15.2 volts all the time unless i push break pedal or something. and also up until recently the battery would sit at around 12.4-12.7 when the car was off and would never get lower unless i sit there listening to radio or something.
this is after 3 days
