ok ive read the what is octtane sticky and also read the comments,ive seen diffrent opinions,some say the 3.8 sc will be fine with 87 gas in them,some say it will screw it up,some say it will be ok as long the pcm isnt tuned,some say it will knock and chip a piston or something,ive also heard that the 04 was redesigned to run 87 cause the pcm is factory tuned to,im VERY paranoid that it will blow my car up,so far 87 has did good,what signs do i need to look for that it may be doing harm,im wanting to buy a 04+ gtp and dont want to screw it up by putting 87 gas in it,i know they ''say'' premium only but in reality will it kill it,i know im not the only one that uses 87 and pretty sure the previous owners didnt either and at 198xxx it seems to be good to go,can i get some clear answers,thanks
 




Because I wanted to know if it'd be ok,I've heard numerous rumors and just want to know the truth,is the 04+ really redesigned to run it??,I want to know signs to look for because I'm looking for another one
 


Dude..

Run premium aka 91 or 93. No matter if it's a 04 or a 97-03 they both will go boom if you continue to run unleaded. Knock is your biggest enemy! Well aside from our ****ty transmission.


Would you rather spend a few more bucks feeling up or spend more then that replacing your motor ?
