• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

I need to get bright led reverse lights....I can't see sh1t while backing up at night.

Are those cree bulbs really as awesome as everyone says?
Then I also see that paul mcain sponser on here sells some led bulbs.

Opinions?

Removed the tint film from the 98 GP GT, would have finished scrubbing off the residual glue but of course have college classes and work.
Also attempted to diagnose my sunroof issue on my own. Seems like it may be a bit loose is all. (There is around 1/8th an inch of play around what I think is the adjusters.)

Wiggling past that alt bracket will never be in any manual. Just don't pull a Drunkie and put the wrong bolt through the bracket into the valve cover. Ooopsie.

Was driving to school and t-stat sky rocketed to 210 then 3/4 hot and when I was stopped it started smoking so I went to the nearest advanced, took about 4 minutes, checked coolant, was absolutely empty, put some in, started it, let it run, cooled down to 205 or so, so I drove it and 5 seconds after driving it wet back up and started smoking and make a weird noise while on the gas, had the guy come out, poured some coolant into the radiator cap, and it shot back out and he says that's a clear sign of a blown head, smoke coming from behind engine....

That's what he said lol. An elbow referrs to a heater hose elbow.

And trust me, the "the guy who tole me is ase certified" or "been a technician for a long time" usually doesn't have any validation around here. These guys know more about the w body than most technicians out there. Many new people on the forum have brought their car into multiple shops for a common problem, and they were told it was something like a head gasket and to just scrap the car, when it was really intake manifold gaskets.

Heck..it seems like it heated up too fast. I'd think stuck thermostat at first, because you didn't say anything about being low on coolant to start. Stuck Tstat will blow the guts out of the car when you finally stopped since you didn't pull over and let it cool.

All seems pretty normal and no worries IMO. But then..from here everything looks fine

And it had taken 2 hours for the tow truck to get to my car so it cooled for a while, when I started it up to put it on the trailer, it all sounded perfect and like nothing was wrong..

Have plans to do an oil change and a few other things to the GXP tomorrow. Also going to try and fix vacuum leaks and replace brake pads on a friends GTP.
