Help me pick a wheel.....

I appreciate the help everyone... I am going to take a look at www.tirerack.com as suggested and I will look on craigslist as well. I do like the stock wheel as people have suggested, just weighing my options...

@tms8582 thanks for the compliment and hot wheel city has a LOT of gaudy wheels, but they have nice things too. They are set up online for the flashy.

a little bit higher end so that i'd end up getting a wheel that will last. the roads around here will bend and crack knockoff wheels if you're not running enough tire (which happens when you run a car real low and have to sacrafice tire size to fit bigger wheels).

work, rotiform, enkei, volk, advan, weds, etc.

something that'll actually set you back a good amount for wheels, but you have to pay for quality. none of that XXR **** over here.

@Bio248 I am sure the roads in Milwaukee are about the same as the roads here in Detroit. So that is something maybe I should consider as well.. I do not plan on driving my car in the winter months, but still..

Yeah I'm in the Detroit Metro area too and have been to a couple of the Hot Wheel City locations. I ended up buying from Tirerack just because they had great on-line tools, specs and could get the tires/wheels delivered to my door all balanced and ready to go. Keep us in the loop to what you decide. I do have to agree with the others that your stock wheels are awfully nice but new wheels can really change the look of a car and it's fun to swap them out. I think your car would look awesome with a mostly black wheel with silver accents.

Doesn't anyone care what a wheel weighs?

you tryin to look fresh or go fast? because no one that's trying to go fast will be running 20s.

and besides, they're super easy to swap out for a lighter set when the time comes...

If and when I plan to go fast. I will NEVER get rid of the rims that came with the car. Those are VERY nice wheels so I will have those as well. When I change wheels, I never get rid of the factories...

I agree anyone with 20s don't care about fast. Sorry but I'm one of those ahole street racers, time comes any time.

For me, it is seldom I race the car as I have not done anything to make the car faster YET! At this point I am not really flying anywhere, not to mention I am looking at longevity with this car. I am not trying to beat on the car every day. I have heard horror stories about the transmissions breaking and all that. Also, I am not a mechanic so while I read the write-ups on here and get excited, I go and look at my car and quickly realize I have no clue what I am doing so I chill out. Until I take the proper care and maintenance for issues like that and I do things to make it faster, I am not running it hard. At this point I am looking to make the car look nice and do minimal things to improve performace...

I don't have a GXP but that's how most of us GTP guys get started.
