Installed headers sd headers. Nothings touching. Maybe trans dip . A little but not rubbing. The kr dosent come in untill later on. Its not instant closer to when it shifts . ? Also running open headers. No cat or anything.
 


Open headers?

Bolt everything up.

Check mount condition.

Check for rubbing on sway bar from downpipe.

Flip upper dog bone mounts for free.

2.75* of KR isn't that bad at all, especially if it's on a stock pulley.

Tune-up should take care of that, really. Especially if it hasn't been done.
 
Tune up as in tune or new plugs etc...I just did 180tstat one stage colder plugs. New wires. New coolant, mounts already flipped. And bolt everything as in install catback ?

I'm still getting Kr as well with stock pulley, 1.9 HS rockers, Intake, colder plugs, Taylor wires, SD headers, flipped mounts, urathane filled motor mount and solid trans mount from a Regal, ported intake, and ported Sc.
Can't figure it out.
 


Tune... Means PCM tuning. We wouldn't say tuneup we would say they heat range of suggested plug. As for wires stock wires are fine upgrading wires do nothing for performance on these cars. They are for looks, reduced noise on audio systems, and are more durable if you plan to take them on and off a lot.

one question not answered, what type of fuel have you been using? 89? 91? 93? Have you checked fuel pressure or done a good fuel system cleaning?
 
Sunoco 93 Oct. And I don't know of any that really work. A lot of gimicks and I don't wanna waste the money on somethi g that won't work
 
on a light note im running a 3.4 on sd's and 0 kr. something must be hitting or you have some engine issues.

i had .5 kr stock on a 100k car.
 
Lower motor and trans mounts you didn't mention if they're in good condition. See if they're sticky/wet/gooey, basically if they're leaking hydraulic fluid. And if you're not tuned and are running off a stock PCM, then that is at least contributing.

As for fueling, have you changed your fuel filter recently? Do that immediately ifyou haven't. For cleaning it I always use Seafoam. A full can with a full tank of gas, and avoid filling up again until you've used most of the tank. I use it once every year after winter to keep things clean.

An addition, have you ever Seafoamed the car in general? Like sucked in through a vaccuum line, not in the gas tank. I have talked to a few local guys who've eliminated 1-2* of KR doing that. It just cleans carbon deposits off your valves and wherever it gets sucked to, I do that on almost every car I've tuned up for people and it always worked well.

Wait, have you really had experience of better spark plug wires eliminating noise in systems? Not that I doubt you, I've honestly never heard of that. Maybe something to remember when I help diagnose people's systems :th_thumb-up:
 


Oil change would be a good idea after and depending on how dirty everything was the plugs could be fouled. All the more reason to do the sea foam. I you are using the recommended auto lite plugs they are cheap anyway
 
a "tune" is not going to fix anything.. My car doesnt knock on a stock pulley with a leaner/higher timing tune.

Might want to investigate extreme fuel trims. Try unplugging your battery for an hour and unplugging your o2 sensor if you have a 97-03 gtp.
 
Unplugging. Battery. Got. But for the o2 sensor . Leave unplugged or reinstall ?

Edit : I'm also only running one 02 atm
 
unplug front o2.. this will disable your fuel trims and let you know how mechanically sound your maf sensor/fuel pressure is... If you get more KR you might want to look in those areas... if you get less or none.. yay?
