Good, moderately quiet or deep exhausts for the 3800?

Yep, I have flow master super 44's right now and I had straight pipes before, didn't quiet it down one bit, just deeper, so loud, it's nice but not for a daily driver sound

They are loud and I have to drive 25 miles round trip for work every day. Several miles through town, sometimes early in the morning. Gets annoying. They're nice sounding at WOT so maybe on a track car, but you're right not on a daily driver.

I had Blowmaster 40's on my car and I hated them. Ricers looked at me funny. LOL But to each their own on sound.

Turbo's will give you a quiet sound with a minimal deep tone (I had them on a 78 Trans Am, 6.6 liter) and it was quiet to me, but my other car was my 70 Chevelle built with Flows

Borla, if set up right, will give you a nice deep mellow tone and have a good sound throughout the RPM range.

As silver said with the Maxflows, if I'm not mistaken they are In between turbos and borla's in loudness. He can comment on that.

Hell, just go get you some Purple Hornies, :D The names sounds cool.. LMAO

I thought they sounded good, til an eclipse that sounded like a weedeater through a megaphone moved in across the street and realized "Wow, my car sounds WAY to close to his.."

I don't want something TOO quiet so maybe turbos aren't for me. Borlas seem to be a nice step down into the deeper tone. Although I am curious, in your opinion what would be "set up right"?

I've heard that exact same thing said about Borlas. Just those two though.

I had borla, the full cat back, sounded perfect, I didn't touch the exhaust once I heard it, perfect, pro x

Wish they still sold the cat back. Any of those are now $1,100+ and special order. Could potentially re-create it for about $600-700 but I don't know what resonator to use.

Back off stock mufflers. Have Borlas welded on. Use stock resonator or go aftermarket if you choose. And yet you only spent maybe $300.

Yep, gotta pay to play as my friend always says

Just annoying that you have to pay $400+ extra because Borla won't sell it directly. Not to mention the false advertising on their site leading all the way to actual check out. Still gotta think about it but whether I build a custom exhaust or order from them, Borla seems like the perfect exhaust for me. Turbos seem to be a little on the quiet side. I still want something a little louder but more toned down. There is always magnaflow, but nobody really talks about them on our cars.

Rip off. Try a mom and pop shop. Years ago when I did my setup I took it down to a local tire place and paid them $10 just to cut my stock mufflers off (didn't feel like getting my hands dirty or jacking the car up etc) then drove the car down to a mom and pop shop and paid them $50 to weld my Borlas on.
