Bakerdd"s '99 GT: Project stance

gonna miss this car.

:( Me too

I might go down this route one day for ****s and giggles. We'll see how much money I wanna burn.

I sometimes think I got carried away with this project. I loved how it looked at the end of everything, but I also really liked the in between steps, especially when I was on coils and just got the other wheels. I like how you're going fairly slow and at a calm pace with your build. More time to plan out everything perfectly

This is a sad, sad day in the GP community.

I want someone on here to buy these bags and keep it going!

How much would you sell those bad boys for anyway?

Also, thanks! I'm really starting to lose my interest in the "Slammed" and "Hellaflush" scene completely, only at the exception of a few cars done perfectly right and not overdone. Everything about your car was perfect in my eyes, the only thing I didn't like was the Stancenation sticker, it stuck out like a sore thumb. I'm all about "Track Stance" if you will, built for driving hard.

My part out thread has $2200 shipped for everything air related. Thanks man, im a fan of track stance too though i'd rather cruise and drive real slow haha. Im really a fan of just about any style really. I agree on the stickers, i thought they looked cool on all the bmws but it looks silly on a gp, I was gonna take it off eventually. I'm really feeling just super sh***y about this whole situation. I went to take off the roof spoiler and the tape was stuck too good and the spoiler got a crack in it. I think its fixable but i was too mad to try yet. I just get this feeling that the bags will sit here forever and i'll end up practically giving them away. I don't know what to do, school pretty much has be backed into a corner where i have no choice but to take more loans so is the money that I stand to make even worth it? The wheels already sold and I almost immediately regretted it... I hate school

I know that I can always do that and it definitely helps me to stay motivated for school, but I guess sort of what I was getting at here is that is it worth being able to say im only 54,000 in debt vs 55,500 once everything is sold and put towards school?

I guess you guys are right. This semester I thought I would try to only take a loan for bare tuition and nothing else and just pay everything else on my own and its rough. I really can't do it and I'm working as much as my schedule will let me and once I transfer I'll have even less time for work because I'll be getting into all of my important classes. Its crazy what schools consider to be enough to pay for school as far as family income goes. Its really unrealistic so I'm just stuck in the middle taking loans. And then theres the bs of, not including buying a text book, my 1 physics class that is accompanied with a lab cost me $70 just to access the online homework. Stupid.

But thanks for the advice guys, it helps a lot

Your right by the time you lower the price enough on the bags to sell them your better off keeping them. You can always get another set of wheels down the road and go back to where you were. Schools stressful enough why not have a little toy you can still enjoy and take a bit of the stress away.

Thats nothing, I just finished my physics one course online.

The kit cost me around like 375. I could find everything in that box at the dollar store, minus the thermometer, spring scale and some other things.

Bakerdd i feel you bud! My school isnt that expensive for my 4 years but i will be around 40,000. Best thing to do it just work and put money toward the loan. Enjoy your car and the stuff you did/can do to it for now!

Well, I just read this thread from beginning to end none stop. It was kinda like a novel with a sad ending. But it sure had some high points. Bakerdd, you can be proud of what you did. You had hardships and kept moving forward. Good luck in college, I'm sure you'll do fine.

Holy crap, hearing stories like yours just reinforces that colleges are wayyy too expensive.

Thanks! Thats what I'm trying to do for sure. I just don't have much time to work coming up. I'm finally gonna be getting into the meat of my major and a lot of my classes are gonna be in studios and shops with projects. From what I heard from other people, I expect to be in there for hours a day

Thank you, its definitely been fun working on this car and I guess I'm not done yet. I need to focus on school right now and just save up for some needed repairs before I get back into things. This time around everything will be perfect because I will take my time haha

Also if anyone has any advice on the door hinges, mine seems to have bent slightly after I parked on a hill and my door pretty much fell open and now the corner doesnt seat well against the weather stripping anymore

Yup i feel you there forsure because i dont have much time at all to even clean my car, and im only at the basic courses right now. Whats your major btw?

Im going into industrial design. I have to choose a concentration of either furiture or product design and im not sure about which one yet
