My build!
Cylinder heads I bought from someone on GPF came quite dirty, so here are pics of cleaning them/making them usable

left is after, right is before

aqyflNE.jpg

exhaust stud broken off in head :( local machine shop charged like 20$ to take it out. so not bad

jvV1zLG.jpg

dirty valve

nFcY3QX.jpg

partially clean heads soaking in parts cleaner

scV2A5a.jpg

parts cleaner eating through the gunk

nkPP380.jpg

all valves and springs locks etc bagged and number for different cylinder numbers and heads, not necessary, but I wanted to do this just to be sure, as it was my first time with cylinder heads even off a car, much less apart.

much cleaner heads!!

bJEjmxp.jpg

nice mating surface

9PdSmCE.jpg

fully reassembled heads and new valve seals.

now that the heads are clean and ready to go, on to tearing apart the car!

Lim and other assorted emmissions removed

So originally this car came with an air pump to put into the exhaust... I thought that was silly. Removed all metal lines, and it just turns out that the flange fits a quarter nicely, so a little (maybe too much...) orange RTV seals it right up. friend has HP tuners so I figured we would just tune out the code. Turns out, there's no code, awesome!

eW3tY1R.jpg

pretty rebuilt and clean heads almost ready to go on car!

cPbilIu.jpg

me being a goofball in the engine bay, removal of rear header at this point I think.

hCnPHNn.jpg

more stuff out of the way, valves and rockers starting to come out.

Pistons!! Cylinder head has been removed.

z9KgPjY.jpg

cylinder walls have factory honing at over 145k miles, very nice!

AHHH, SUPERCHARGER ON MY CAR!

Finished product!!

*****NOTE**** I got 60LB injectors and am running e85. That is why I am able to run a 3.6 inch pulley on a ported blower on a high compression engine. currently seeing a whopping ZERO degrees of KR. Engine runs beautifully. On gas, I would recommend starting with at least a 4.0 pulley or higher until you have supporting mods or know you can run a smaller pulley safely. This car was bone stock prior save for the cone filter. Any questions or help with a topswap I would love to answer!! This project was awesome, fun to do, and was done by me and a friend over a weekend with basic mechanical knowledge and finding info from forums.

Me pumping corn into my car

Hey man, thats sweet! I don't have any questions per say, but i am top swapping my 02 prix. I also saw your in Sioux falls, thats pretty cool, im in brookings.

nice work there. but why only one belt? the sc pulley looks to have very little belt contact area. it could be slipping on you.

That's the SSM90 setup from ZZP, it uses the N/A belt to incorporate the blower instead of it being on it's (basically) own belt.

Nice job man!

it looks to be a true top swap, the heads he cleaned up have injector holes in them. the pulley may be of a ss m90 kit tho.

and you may want to get headers, the manifolds look to be stock.

yeah its a full top swap other than the ssm90 pulley. where i put the extra idler pulley I actually get plenty of belt wrap. when I do headers soon I will probably go down to a 3.4 or 3.3 on a 2 belt setup. just did this for now because I couldn't stand being NA anymore haha. e85 gives me enough octane to safely run the 3.6 with 0 KR.

On a stock valvetrain with the corn I don't see why you couldn't run a 3.25"~ safely.

Get rid of the accordian crap on the intake tube and toss the filter on the TB anyways.

Also, agreed as well with the dual belt setup. Minus the H-Body mount kinda makes it a PITA.

Really? 2 of my friends have GP's and we noticed we had a lot more room in the engine bay and most everything was easier to get to. with airpump and egr deleted of course. And you really think I could run the 3.25? I see occasional blips of .5* KR sometimes, so I was thinking 3.6 was max. But I did just move somewhere with roughly 1600 ft higher elevation so I might be able to drop to a 3.4 to get some power back.

I'm surprised you didn't spray the blower/lim,vc while you had everything apart.

Oh and degrease the bay >_<

The blower, lim and valve covers were completely cleaned out before I put them on. I didn't have time to pretty up the engine bay, I came home for a weekend and had to have this knocked out and have a running car to go back to college :-P

yeah it moves now!! Just got an evap code and went to figure out why... and my gas cap wasn't lose. it was just plain gone..
