Nexus 7 as radio PROJECT!

Ok. So i was looking at getting a new radio for my 99. My buddy has let me borrow his extra long enough, and i came up with the idea of using a Nexus 7 as the radio/gps its self!

Picking up a nexus 7 Friday hopefully from my other friend, and starting to figure out how im gonna do this. I have the Stereo, amp, equalizer part figured out and have tested it with my phone and it is working. Now its just mounting the nexus in the dash.

Anyone with ideas, or has done this before feel free to put in your 2 cents! :th_thumb-up:

Im told that the sound is terrible using a tablet. Its only one channel two tops. Ive looked into apps to disperse sound to more channels with no luck. Also looked into some sort of adapter module with no luck. Id like to know if anyone has found anything like that.

That depends entirely on how you go about it. Try streaming the music via Bluetooth to a headunit of your choosing in the glove box. I've heard a Nexus 7 and DEH-80prs combo in a vehicle with a pretty nice install, and was impressed.
