Oddly enough a windage tray and crank scrapers do different things, though the crank scrapers is the modification that reduces or eliminates the windage cloud, go figure, but you can incorporate a crank scraper into a windage tray. So I guess in that sense they can kinda do the same thing.

I have spoke with this guy in the past with regards to scrapers for my previous vehicle and of course the GP. He is very nice guy and when I first learned of scrapers, he answered a great many of my questions.

i spun rod bearings in my 97 grand prix and slightly scored my crank can i use emory cloth and replace with standard bearings will they hold up or should i pull crank

but is there a limit at which the stock bolts for the main bearing / rods may stretch causing slop / spun bearing?

I'm thinking over / near over stressing the bolts + high mileage could attribute to it.

Just a thought....seems the discussion was derailed to what kind of oil is best>=p

I had my cam inspected and polished at a machine shop, to make sure it was reuseable.
I went with stock bearings again.
But the machine would have to inspect your block to make sure it can be used with stock bearings.

What kind of power can the stock bottom end of an l67/l32 take for many miles?

the stock bolts may not be build to handle the stress of bolt on power adders. It may take 10k-100k miles to cause a problem but would result in a spun bearing when a bolt started getting longer.

works in theory....can anyone confirm / disprove?

honestly if they are tuned right I bet they can take 600hp if not more.

more like 800 hp or more. the TTGT had a stock bottom end when it first ran 8s.
