Good, moderately quiet or deep exhausts for the 3800?

Getting my 2003 Grand Prix GT worked on next week(long shifts causing it to eventually slam gears and also stuttering acceleration especially from stops or up slight hills. Think it may be something electrical and clutch packs but feel free to give your opinion in your post) then after that is out of the way I plan on getting a new exhaust. I currently have a Wizaired CAI(Which I LOVE) and a stock exhaust other than two Flowmaster Super 40s. I love the sound of the 40s but it is just a little to loud for me, especially coming home from work at 1am at the top of a big hill because it's awkwardly loud at specific low RPMs going uphill. I'm thinking of getting a 2.5" zzp catted downpipe with a magnaflow resonator and a pair of mufflers. I would really appreciate any input for a good sounding, somewhat quiet, preferably deep and non-raspy exhaust. I'm thinking magnaflow or borla but will take all suggestions.

If this is the wrong section I will be more than happy to move it somewhere else. Thank you.

3" downpipe or bust.

Resonator...keep the stock one...it's the mufflers...you want something not chambered...Borla, Magnaflow, SLP, Corsa...those things.

3" downpipe on a N/A with already fairly small exhaust? And I've heard those are all good mufflers other than Corsa which many have complained is too loud. Would most of them sound pretty much the same though? And the only reason I wasn't going to keep the stock resonator was because I was going to replace to piping to, but do you think I should keep it? It just seems very small especially after the Y-split.

Borlas/corsa= not quiet
Flow masters = far from quiet
Maybe try magnaflows..
Thrush seems to be pretty cheap and sounds similar to stock

Youtube doesn't normally do justice, I know my flowmasters sound way different than any flowmaster videos. That's why I'm here hoping to find people who have heard some different types of exhausts. Thanks for the post though.

Full ZZP 2.5 down pipe back with cat, with res and muffer, this is the latest set up they offer, very little drone from previous versions. Freeway from 55-67ish barely notice it. It does drone a little bit 67+ but its not that bad. Its low and unobtrusive.

Thanks for the video. Sounds pretty deep but mellow. I'd probably pick the magnaflow resonator instead of the zzp, is the muffler chambered too? I know Blueguy suggest staying away from chambered. Have you driven one of those or heard them in person compared to flowmasters?

Super turbo mufflers. Nice low end rumble at idle and not raspy and obnoxious at WOT. Out of all the exhaust setups I've listened to I keep going back to that one for just the right tone and decibel.

All the videos seem good. Subtle, yet got a nice rumble too it. Think it would sound good with a magnaflow resonator or keep all the piping and resonator stock?

Two direct fit super turbo mufflers with a pair of borla tips that I like(the rectangular tips) would cost about $300+ install so probably around $400? Then $170 for downpipe with cat. Or just $560 for the dynomax super turbo cat-back then $170 for downpipe. Opinions? Exhaust pipe is slightly altered to fit my 2.5" flowmaster but the super turbos are 2.5" too so it should be about to be cut and welded in the same spot. I'll take it to a better shop cause the last one did a terrible job.

Wish I had perspective but I dont, not too many modded GPs in my area. I do know what rasp sounds like though.

This set up is chambered but its pretty quite, honestly I was pleasantly surprised I knew there were possibly better options but I kinda got a thing for brand and I dig what ZZP does so I thought id give em a chance. A little pricey but I like knowing they engineer there stuff as best as they can to our specific rides. If I didnt go ZZP I would have gone Turbo.

Two for Turbo two for ZZP. Tough decisions haha Gonna give it a little more time to figure out which I prefer. When I get my car checked next Thursday if they find something horribly wrong I may not be keeping my car, but I'm hoping I can. If I do, these seem like the two best setups. Thanks for all the help.

borla is actually perfect sounding if yor not looking for flow master loud, an if your willing to pay, although you could have other mods which would affect the sound but stock piping with borla mufflers sounds really nice, I had the full system and it was so nice, just pricey

magnaflow 11225's and no resonator...No drone at idle or on highway, only loud when accelerating through the gears. Not even loud actually.....Very quiet and muffled, but deep.

okay in this vid, its halfway in the garage and the phone is a little close when reving but when i start it up just imagine it close with your ears, no drone on HW at all, no rasp at all.

and this is outside, clear as day having some fun and a good sound clip.

Sound a lot more "throatier" than mine. Wish you had a drive by or something lol. Good videos. Were those Borla XS's?
