• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Tuning Assistance - Who do you trust?

Nick, SlowSho, SnowFlake, and whatever other usernames he may and probably does have... Is a very good tuner

Really really bad idea.. He is a internet tuner with nothing more than an ability to take my instructions. I wouldnt put any more faith into that guy over what you can just do yourself. He is completely delusional about most everything related to 3800s.

Just "tune" it yourself. It will save money, time, aggrivation and the end result will always be better as you can actually adjust and tweak things as you drive it.

I completely disagree. I was skeptical upon meeting him at first after reading what some people like yourself have said. Well, I will say I am glad I did meet him because now I have a reliable tuner who lives merely 30 min away from me. And save me money? Yeah on gas maybe from the commute to meeting up with him. When he tuned my car he didn't ask for a dime, but I insisted on throwing him a few bucks for spending the good 2 1/2 hours it took to safely dial in my tune. After that he followed up with me a few times asking how the car was running and if I needed anything else just to give a holler. So from what I've seen of him so far, I have no remorse or negative remarks. He's a genuine dude.

I can never figure you out. I've read a lot of your posts, and about half have been very informative and useful. This post falls into the other half, where it's ridiculous and doesn't make any sense at all. You want to provide any evidence or links to back up what you're saying? Following your advice? Any PM's or threads to back this up?

I have no dog in this fight but I see his side. Why not learn to do it yourself? Cheap and not "overly" complicated with our platform. Now if you only need a tune a year or less then use a service I guess. Just different view points...

know I'd rather know how to so I can change as needed.

Many of us prefer not to spend the money on or borrow a tuner just as many of us prefer not to mechanically work on these motors ourselves and just pay someone else to do it. Sometimes it's easier just having a good hook up with someone who is already experienced and likes to lend a hand. It's also a good way to make friends.

Agreed, especially on the last part. I don't know about the personal portion of the debate. Have fun y'all!

Nick / snowflake is a great tuner. No one could seem to get my car to idle correct. Went to CT and had him tune my car on the dyno. Took his time , made sure everything was safe , and made sure i was happy with the car. My Car now runs awesome. Even when i have questions hes always there to give a hand. All around great guy.
