Subframe bushing removal? Help....

Mr D

New member
03 GTP, 138k mi. So I ordered a mint in parts, and a few tools to make it happen. I am working on replacing my transmission shift solenoids, and thought my chronic vibration might be due to worn subframe bushings, so plan to replace them while the subframe was lowered. But.....now that I have the car tore apart, and all the parts in hand, and can see what I'm dealing with, I can't imagine how to get the subframe bushings out. They seem to be fused in, my slide hammer blind pulley puller doesn't fit, and I do NOT have pneumatic tools.... Seeking suggestions, tips, lessons learned, et al. Thanks

From the factory they are simply pushed together by hand. Typically they rust in a bit over time. I've used an air hammer to loosen and get them out.

Agreed! They tend to not want to come out after not moving for 10 or more years.
I recently dropped my subframe for a cam install, thankfully the pass. side that I needed loosened the most was fairly co operative but the driver side bushings what a PITA! They screeched like nails on a chalkboard every time they budged a little.
