Aeroforce Gauge Mounting Help

Could use some help with mounting my gauge.

I just took out my ash tray which was a pain in the butt. The two screws underneath...wow they were tough to get at.

Anyways, I have a 99 Grand Prix GTP. I want to mount my gauge there but have no idea how to. Has anyone done it? Do I need to make my own bracket? If so, what can I attack it to?

Also, I need a power supply to run the gauge off of. There are three wires that powered the lighter and the light that were in the ash tray. I unplugged those. Can I splice my three wires for the Aeroforce Gauge onto those three wires? Will it be too much or not enough power?

Thanks

HUD pod would be a better option. You want to be able to monitor what's showing on the Aeroforce without having to take your eyes off the road and look down near the cubby area.

I believe you have to get an ADD-A-FUSE from autozone, correct me if I'm wrong redcomp

Yes I believe the previous generation had to use a add a fuse vs the 04 that just runs off the obd2. Search ebay for a mini add a fuse...super cheap.

Some cars you can run without the power. Some you can't. In my 98 I could run it without the power, but when I would turn the car off then back on it wouldn't come on. Remove the jumper on the back of the gauge. It's a little black piece. Plug the small pigtail adapter into it. You ONLY NEED to wire the red one. Buy a mini add a fuse. Make sure you get the mini because there are two sizes. Should be available at any parts store. Also grab some wire to run it to your fuse box. Find a fuse with the same amp. I believe it was a 10. Replace with the add a fuse. I run mine off my radio amp so I can still use the gauge after the car is off if needed.

Heres a write up.

any other questions feel free to ask.

Yea run it somewhere where it's going to turn off example like the radio..if you run it to the cigarette lighter wouldn't it stay on and drain your battery. If its anything like the 04s the cigarette lighter stays on even if the car isn't on.
