hello everyone,i've been looking around the forum for a while and finally got around to register.i have a 04 Pontiac grandprix gt (with issues already).I live in Houston tx close to humble area...I bought the car as a daily driver but it only lasted a week before it crapped out on me.can someone tell me if its head g askets or intake gaskets?

Intake gaskets, the oil is all milky. I would not run the motor again untill you can swap them out.

Sounds like it got a pretty good misfire too, maybe it fouled the plugs out.

If it was a blown headgasket it would be blowing white smoke out the back all the time.

the oil on the dip stick looks like crap, is it milk shake looking?

does sound like its got a bad misfire. and maybe a rod knock. are you loosing coolant? under the oil cap, is it all wet with white or yellow snot?

the check engine light on? if so get it scanned.

It was blowing white smoke the night before

id do the lim gaskets asap!!! then do 2 oil changes.

then pray the bottom end holds up.

has it had any trouble cranking over when you turn the key to start it? like 1/2 a turn, then it stops turning?

this guys 5 posts deep into his membership, and doing a lim job with out asking a thing about how to do it, found the 2 hidden bolts too. i like this guy.....

What should i do next? Pull the heads off? Or start looking for new/used motor...by the way it only has 108k miles on the clock

leave the heads on, they rarely fail. new lim and upper gaskets and put it back together, do 2 oil changes with a new filter to clear out that bad oil.

you gonna want to add a new set of coolant elbows to the list as well, the top one you found, but theres a lower one as well, its all part of the alt bracket, they sell metal elbows now. if you cant find them the regular plastic ones will work, have been for years. they are found in the HELP section at the parts stores, made by dorman.

Well thats kinda up to you, you can take the heads off if you think it might have blown a headgasket, but its hard to say if it did.

The motor be saved for sure, just make sure when you get everything back together that you must do atleast 2 oil changes right away within in 15-20 minutes of run time to get all of the coolant out of the inside of the motor.
