• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My girl Black Betty

Thanks! I love the filter! The thing makes some noise too! Yeah I have been trying to get around to cleaning it but I have been detailing the vette and cadillac the past couple weekends since prom was last weekend and I worked all day today so maybe tomorrow. Though I did change the oil today and fixed my foglight. Too bad one of my subs has stopped so I may be just be deleting my mufflers with a glass pack instead of resonator so I can get my audio figured out.

I have a friend that has a couple flowmaster 40 series that I'm thinking about buying off him, only problem is they are 2.5in so I'd have to figure that out somehow.

I'm going to try and get them, he only wants $40 a piece and then $40 to install them. I don't have a welder so I can't install them.

Got the mufflers on last night, tips factory tips are going back on today. Yes they do drone some up to around 2500rpm but they have absolutely no rasp and are nice and deep. My friend had them on their early 70's mach 1 with a 472ci only so they could start it

So it looks like there is a good possibility that I will be selling the car and hopefully getting an 00-03 ssei. Reason being is a I am starting up my own auto detailing business so I should be getting decent money from that for being in highschool. I do have a few questions about the ssei such as can I run mid grade fuel safely as long as I don't run it hard all the time? How well do the transmissions in the bonneville's hold up? My parents have had 4 of them I think and my grandpa had a supercharged 3.8 olds that he ran 87 in it's whole life and never had a single problem.

Thanks,
99coupegt

The ssei trans is the same as the Gtp. Most hold up for quite a long time. I'm at 170k on mine and still holding strong

as per the octane question. Sure you could run it and not get on it and probably be okay. But seriously, assuming your premium octane is 20 cents more a gallon than regular. If you fill an entire tank it will cost $3.60 more... Just run the highest octane you can find. Would you rather take the chance on chipping a piston and paying for a rebuild or a new motor, or less than $4 a take more for gas?

Sadly, Black Betty is getting ready to be sold.

I'm jelly, I think the Bonne GXP looks better than the GP GXP, rims and car as a whole. Awesome color too. Does the paint have pearl in it?
