trunk weight

ok so i have roughly 150-200 pounds worth of audio equipment in my trunk how much slower will this make my gtp? is it worth giving up the deep bass i love? will i be that much faster :( haha?

just leave it in there if it's a daily driver. if your going to the track you might want to pull it out for the day? maybe a small .0something better? you wont notice anything yourself with that amount of extra weight.

Someone did the math once, it was like .01 sec for every 80lbs you remove from your GP, but weight in the back hurts more than weight in the front.....

it is my daily driver but its enough weight for the trunk to sag and be lower than the front....would you say thats more than 200 LBS? would it help to lower the front down with some eibachs?

I've noticed a lot of GPs sit low in the back. I think its the springs on your cars. Someone swapped to GTP springs on a Monte and the ass started sagging. Perhaps you guys should swap to Impala/Monte rear springs, or even better, 9C1 springs.

what all do you exactly have back there? i switch my subs around alot and never notice a 'in the seat difference' i took out all my stuff for a little while then put in three ten's and a decent heavy amp and didnt notice any major power loss.

i got a rockford T212D2 (80 pound 12) and a big ported box to hold it another id say 50 pounds maybe and a rockforf T10001bd (25 pounds maybe) and i got mdf under the carpet to screw everything down im considering removine the spare and fiberglassing a box in there...

It's your car but I know there is no way I would remove my spare tire from mine. I would hate to get a flat in the middle of no where and not have a spare.

pretty sure its closer to a tenth (.1) of a second for every 100 lbs.

I 2nd that

I would only take it out if it mean breaking into the 12's or staying in the 13's buy a tenth or two. Once I got my time slip it would go back in the trunk.

LOL, funny you should say that. A person down towad the Joliet aea put a full 9C1 suspension on his GTP. raised all 4 corners up... no body role, squat, or any movement what so ever. raised it up like a monster ruck..LOL!!!

but it worked!
