• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

P0171 with new MAF sensor

get one from a junk yard. they cost no more then 40 bucks used with a warranty so if it dont work, you can swap it again.

ive been using one for the last 2 years in my car. after market mafs dont fair well in these cars.

Yah I'm leaning that way, unfortunately where I live a junkyard is just not close. However, this will probably be my last switch with the reman MAF and we'll see if it happens to work. Thanks for the advice.

Say worst case the wires were bad. I haven't found much info on replacing/repairing them. Any insight?

I'm having the same issue. New (not reman) borg warner maf from advance and I have P0102 and P0171. All factory aside from ZZP exhaust and hai.

I've read post after post of suggestions and tips for P0102, but none with any follow through saying, I did all of this and none of it worked. That's the answer I'm looking for :th_thumb-up:

cut the old plug off, strip the wires back till you hit clean shinny copper wire, then solder the new pig tail on. ( my maf wires were bad 2 inches from the main harness)

nothing else will last but solder and shrink tubes.

this is of course if you find cracks or missing insulation on the wires. once air gets to the copper wire it gets whats called dry wire. its tarnished copper, it no longer flows current properly and will set the low voltage code.

solder and shrink tubes will prevent dry wire, where tape will fail, and so will butt splice connectors. especially under the hood where they can get wet and hot.
