How to Remove third brake light

i want to remove the third brake light so it can be tinted over. how do i move it and/or get rid of it since i dont use it. i have heard about removing the deck but idk how. i do have the rear seats out from removing subs so what else must i do.
 


It slides off iirc. Removing the deck requires removing the rear seat. Just a couple of 15mm bolts(?)

remove rear seat, then you will find 3 plastic plugs holding on the rear deck pull them out a viola rear deck carpet lifts off

I don't have any better pics, this was taken when I installed my nice new Memphis 6x9s. But you will need a 15mm socket and wrench, pop out the bottom seat and remove, unbolt the 4 bolts for the seat belts, slide rear seat up and out, 4 hanger hold it on so you have to lift and pull out. After the deck is held in by 2 big plastic retainers on each side iirc, then it just pops up and slides out over the speakers, then you see what I have pictured above... after that, you're on your own.

thanks alot man the pic and info about the retainers is what i need and helped a lot. it was really easy, easier than people make it sound
 


I was about to search for just this thing, as I want to LED my third brake light. Didn't have to search at all!. Thanks to the OP for asking, and thanks to those that answered. :th_thumbsup-wink:
