Wanting some hids for the 2001 grand prix to shine through my blacked out.headlights I don't wanna Buy crap and not be.able to shine through my facorty bulb barely get through at all. Help!

have you ever tried shining a light threw a wall? there are reasons most of us dont black out our headlights
Does it look kool at day.. sure does. At night... not so much.

Tinting them with one coat of VHT is good. You get a different look and still get visibility. But the HID kit you want should be this.

Color:
4300k-5000k

Ballast:
55watt aluminum SLIM ballast that is 10 -12 amps... Not like 4, That's crap.

You need the bulb to omit the whitest color as possible because that sends more lumens. But good luck with that, and if the HID's don't shine through your tint, then buy halos's off eBay. I've got them on my car with 55watt HIDs and they are an asshole bright. Lol hope this helps.

If you want to be able to see don't black your headlights out dude.

If you want to achieve the blackout look either do a retro fit and paint the reflectors black

I totally agree with him. Blacking out your headlights is only for show. But let me know how it goes with the HID's. personally I think you screwed yourself with blacking them out, but I can always be wrong.

(My side job is tail light tinting/eyebrow tinting/after market headlamp installs and HID installs)

I'm all for tinting taillights and such as long as they are done correctly and prefer that they are LEDs so you won't have any issues with other drivers not being able to see your brake lights etc but I would never tint my headlights I value my life and the ability to see way to much to justify all that for a 'cool' look.

agree, i purchased the spider headlights on ebay with "6k" hids. The light output is ****. I keep my fogs on at night just to see where i am going. Its not so much the housings. Its more the **** ass hids in them.So i plan to put different ones in soon.

^ lmao yea I bought them when they first came out installed them on the car and sold them the next day. Wish I wasn't so eager to be one of the first one to buy them and could of saved myself the hassle.

Thanks But.Yeah I'm just looking for a cheap alternative! Haha any cheap decent halos you guys know of?

Yeah, just look on eBay. I prefer Spyder halos, they haven't let me down and I've put them on countless of vehicles including all of mine and no complaints. Just make sure you keep an eye on eBay or Amazon and compare prices.
