Where are you going with this lol? This I'd not intended to sound like a douche, really am just wondering.
I don't see the merit of your comparison and defense of EA games.
They have a really bad history of treating both employees and customers poorly, even with the Battlefield series.
My initial qualm with your point was EA does not provide that much more value for your money if you're paying for the added services and content. For the core price of the game, yes, it strikes a good value. The idea of a paid subscription for this type of game, is well beyond me. Furthermore, additional content and charging the same price as the game itself, is also rather peculiar.
On the other hand, seeing as they've added 20 maps and 20 weapons for $50, that's not that bad of a deal. But only because of the scale of a typical BF3 map. Regardless, it's still $90 or $110 if you pre-ordered the deluxe edition.
On the topic of indoor combat, the close quarters combat expansion for BF3 comes across as a mashup of CS and COD. CoD is small scale combat, BF3 is large scale. Not directly comparable, until BF3 tried it.
I still cannot see the point to basing the server browser through a web page.
Instead of running the service through the main game, the server browser is run through plug-ins via your web browser. The party voice chat is run through yet another separate process. Last one is pretty pointless, because of vent.
Regardless, you're still playing very different games.
Now I might buy the $50 pack and start playing this again. :th_laugh-lol3:
Quick comment on the graphics though, I can't see them taking it much further as we're not moving quickly enough with video card improvements. Nor are people actually buying them. Check the steam survey.
IIRC, it takes a 580 to run BF3 maxed at 1920x1080. Not the best card out there, but it's certainly not shabby by any standards. Gotta pay to play right?
BF4 trailer looks good, but I find it peculiar they always pick the one guy who doesn't know how to play to do the demo. Makes sense for them though, they have more time to show off.
