Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Lookin Purrrtttaayyy.

LOL 6 coats is alot of VHT. Did you test them to make sure you can still see light through? I figure with LED's they'd be fine but that's still alot.

Cant wait!!!!

Re: 1997 Black GTP, She's Lookin Purrrtttaayyy.

Finished the tail lights this morning.

They came out absolutely outstanding. Like Glass. It's so good, it almost makes my paint look bad.

Wet sanded, 2 coats of Meguiars Ultimate Compound, 2 coats of Meguiars Scratch X, 2 coats of Meguiars Cleaner Wax, then another coat of Scratch X, then finished with the final coat of cleaner wax.

Both tail lights are perfect, not one is darker than the other. The light still comes through nice. I am extremely happy with the result. Took me over an hour of rubbing all that compound into the tail lights, but it was well worth it. Slow and Steady.

The pictures honestly do not do any justice, they look 10x better in person. Ill also get some evening/night shots as well.

After:

Small bit of Orange Peel left on the bottom corner, but you'll never notice that:
