Blackgtp95's : 95 GTP w/ L67 Swap

Decided to make a post about my car...... I used to surf ClubGP but since that has completely died I have found a new home here.....

Long story short.... I bought this 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP in October of 2002 it was a 1 owner car and garage kept, when I purchased it was very very clean and it even came with all the receipts and service logs written in the manual in the glove box!. So I DD it for about a year and then decided to do the L67 swap in 2003. The motor came from a 2002 Buick Regal with about 30K miles on it. I raced pretty heavily for about 2 years (back in the INTENSE/ZZP race down to 8 seconds time frame) but then I lost my garage and had to put the car into storage for about 6 years until I built my new garage at our house in 2011.... finally now being able to bring her back and get to work again...

I have tons of pictures, these will be the newest from 2011 + .... (in efforts not to clog this post with pics please go to dropbox link)

hello from a fellow first gen owner might i say you did a fantastic job on the swap!
aesthetically i would do somethin with the rims. i wont stop gettin looks from the blacked out rims i did on mine.
tinted tail lights if you are into that. i hated the way the stock orange/red combo of the lights looked against the car.
also are you on the 4t60 still???

This car is amazing, and extremely clean.

Awesome work man.

Create a Photobucket account (Its free), upload the pictures to that and then copy and paste the IMG code in this text box.

It has the 4t65-hd that came on the motor

thats nice!:th_thumbsup-wink: I always wanted to do something like that! Was it hard?

Depends on your definition of hard...lol. It bolts right in for the most part and if your good with wiring its a breeze

Drunkie, DanPrixGTP <<< Thanks for the props!

how was the modifying of the firewall to fit the headers? i keep getting such mixed responses....some guy said he lost heating, some guy said he had to tilt his engine forward...some guy said it was nothing. looking at this swap it looks like it was relatively painless.

Time consuming to make it look really good and not take too much out, what I did was took the rear header and a stripped/empty 3800 block I had laying around while the trans was still in the car i put the empty block in bolting it to the trans and positioning the whole thing as if it was fully installed I was then able to put the rear header on and trace what needed to be cut (checkout my dropbox there are photos of the header cuts

Anyone who loses there heat has cut WAY too much....lol and there should be no need to tilt the motor mine is in with no modification to the angle or mounts

I can take a couple pics from underneath with everything installed if you want!

What are you running in the 1/4?

Kinda hard to see on the videos.

Ha yeah wife can't take a video to save her life.... anyways I run a consistent 13.5/13.6 on street trim (full interior w/spare, pump gas, full tire pressure and no rear end brace and no tire warm up) that's whats in the video however my personal best is a 13.016 on full race setup

Converted all my interior lights to LED's tonight.... couldn't get any real good pics and these 2 really don't do it justice but it looks killer compared to the old yellow looking stock bulbs
