98 Grand Prix GTP Engine Noise with video.



sounds like its internal. could just be a wobbling pulley. Easiest way to find out it remove the belts on a cold engine, and start it and see if its still making the noise. Only let it run for a second.
 
Why was a head gasket replaced? These motors RARELY eat HG's. The LIM gaskets go long before a HG gives up.

Do as suggested above and see if the noise goes away. If it does, then you know it's in a pulley somewhere. Could be the waterpump or A/C compressor from the sounds of it.

Just one day I was driving up the mountain to get to my for one of my finals and the car just started struggling really bad and losing power and I looked down at my dash and noticed that my car was over heating and it got all the way to the red and the light came on before i got to a place where I could pull over (which was probably less than 30 seconds) I had someone pick me up and then when they got my car to the shop they told me my head gasket was blown, so I just had it replaced.

The car runs fine now, Its just making that noise and Im not sure what its from.
