Turn Signal blinking fast but hazard lights are fine? All stock, no LED's.

My turn signal light went out, so I replaced it with the 2nd bulb I had (from the last time it went out)

At first there was still not success. I noticed a nick in the wire so we patched that up. The bulb works again but now flashes twice as fast. The rear blinker is still fine. The flashing is fast in both the dashboard indicator and the actual light. Hazard lights function fine. When turn on my parking and/or headlights the driver-side blinker turns on, but is dim. This shows on the dashboard and on the actual light.

So the bulb is new, hazard lights work, all blinkers are fine. Driver-side front turn signal blinks fast. Turning on headlights manually causes the drivers side turn signal to stay on, but is only half as bright.

Fuse, relay, wiring, etc? Where to start, and has anyone here had the same issue?

I would start by checking this light out thoroughly; bulb, wiring, socket etc.

I've been that far, and I assume the bulb is okay as the Hazard lights seem to function fine. I was thinking something in the wiring that maybe differs from hazard lights vs turning signal?

Multi-function switch? That's what the switch is called that controls turns, brights, headlights and cruise control to left left If the steering wheel.

curse of grand prixs? my blinker lights hyperblink when i have my front defroster and rear defroster on at idle, and then goes back to normal if i switch off the rear defroster.

It's a 2000 grand prix, sorry I forgot to mention it. The MF switch on mine only controls cruise, windshield, brights and turn signals. Headlights are done via a dial with parking and full. I don't think its the MF switch though because everything responds appropriately. Winshield wipers are fine, brights function and turn signals do come on/off on demand. It's just the left turn blinks as if it thinks one is still burned out. The only thing I really messed with between it working and now was the wiring/components, checked all the wires and they seemed solid though.

Turns out the socket of my marker light was corroded , and that caused my signal light to hyperflash. Removing the bulb also causes this. Cleaned up the contacts, put some bulb grease on the bulb and everything seems to be back in working order now. I have no idea why it would cause those symptoms but if someone wants to enlighten me, I'm listening.
