• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

do you need to tune for a throttle body?

hmm well... im gonna have headers on the way soon hopefully along with colder plugs, and a 180 tstat n hopefully a 3.4 inch pulley. so what tb would work well with that?

i agree with josh here. the throttle body flows just fine until you get into smaller pullies.

and if youre that eager to get a bigger TB, i wouldnt suggest any of the stock ported ones. it's much easier to go N* or LS1 nowadays.

Actually, you do have to tune for it. The car will tend to run slightly lean because of the slower air velocity around the MAF.

x2 on the LS1 tb set up instead.
I had the zz stg1 and when i installed the ls1 with the 85 maf i noticed the throttle respose was better.:th_thumbsup-wink:
Never looked back after the intsall.
Do it and do it right the first time.

First of all if you're going to get a larger TB at all I'd go with either a N* or LS1 TB, and secondly you are not going gain much from a larger TB without a blower with the inlet ported to match. Your money would be better off spent on rockers at this point.

I spent 350 on my 78mm chunk of aluminum from zzp. Actually now that i think about it it's something i havent regreted.

Either way you will need to tune the MAF if you're going to be putting on that 3.4.

you could technically run it with out tunning but like stated above you will be runing a bit lean, if you can tune for it definitly do it.
