So i have this 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3800 and this is what it is now.. i am the second owner of the car and this is actually my first car. i want to keep it for sure and do nice things to it performance wise and looks as well. i believe everything on here is stock other than the water pump and oil sensor. my priority list is lights, tint and dent at the moment. i wanted to get the spec d lights but was wondering if they are good on these cars. should i be going stock lights or the spec d's. as for headlights wshat should i do. i feel like im going to get an hid kit and retrofit it but are there other options? (i could use some help with that) im not sure where to start so im looking for all of your help. as far as performance i know im going to follow (http://www.grandprixforums.net/safely-modding-your-3800-a-67580.html). and thats all i can think of at the moment. LETS MAKE IT GREAT

Those tail lights look amazing.

My list for you:

Tint
Roof Rails
New Headlights - Black housings
Retrofit or Hids
LED smoked tails
Black rims
Lower
SLP Gen 1 Spoiler

Getting an SD/GTX/F1 hood And/or Front Air Dam would cost a sh1t ton in shipping to get it out to Hawaii, wont even be worth it probably.

BUT I am very jealous you live in Hawaii...
:th_drooling:

Nice Ride
The crystallized look on the tails, blends with the silver...I like that better than smoke VHT:th_winking:

Nice stock canvas for you to change up. Those de laminated tails gotta go, more of a safety thing, light output is bad, people might rear end you cause of them. As for headlights, can't help you there I have yet to address that section on my ride. Tint is a definite, especially in that tropical sun. Make sure you do all the regular maintenance also. Looking forward to the updates.

thanks guys for the advice but just to throw it out there this is my daily driver and i also am a pizza man and work for my family.. but good news i can take my electricians union test soon so lets hope that works out!

Sub'd for greatness. Once this car has the sex mod going strong, it will have awesome photoshoots, I just know it. :th_thumbsup-wink: Plus I'm partial to silver sedans.

I really doubt it just because, but if you have an Junk Yards/Scrap Yard I would go look around for other GPs. The roof rails are popular on the Daytona's and 02 40ths (Purple, but can be painted), sedans or coupes, both are the same size. The wheels Tanker has are 92-96 GTP wheels with the PONTIAC engraved, possible find too in a JY.
I would suggest new tails, tint for the windows (really makes a difference in looks), fix the dent, headlights, then other mods.

If the headlights are just fogged over and you don't want to have to buy new ones, look at my Member's Ride thread (click the pic in my siggy) and mid point of page 1, I wet sanded my back to shiny, took a couple hours on a saturday, but well worth the time, I've gone 2 years and barely starting to fog back over, still clean. Otherwise you'd have to buy new ones.

MY WISHLIST:
debadge
flip dogbone mount
paint fascias black
led tail lights
moromoto mini h1 projector kit
cold air intake mod
TINT
paintless dent repair
finish my sound system
purple arrowhead
purple inlays
matching calipers, dogbones and engine brackets
front plate cover

all of these not necessarily in that order but thats what i can think of for now
i do have my day off tomorrow so im going to look at the 2 back windows see if i can fix them, my ac blows only at my feet so im going to check for a vacuum leak, debadge and maybe do the dogbone flip tomorrow

Debadge looks awesome on these cars, use some dental floss and some goo-gone or adhesive remover, then polish and buff and you should be good. Silver doesn't fade that badly so you should be ok there.

I think with your headlights, some wet-sanding would get you far, while you have them out I would run a solid bead of clear silicone across the seal to help seal them up, that's where the leak/condensation is coming from.
Click me - When I did mine, I started at 800, then went to 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 all wet the whole time and then used a buffer with a little wax and they were perfect.

what about just simple restoration kits?
and tomorrow is going to be one hell of a day i can feel it

The pick and pull is in pearl city. If your going thru pearl city towards town, you take a right right after the dodge dealership at the intersection where McDonald's is and 7-11 towards the army housing. Then you take a right down a little dirt road right before the park on your left. Pretty remote and kinda hard to get to. But like I said they never have anything I need.
I have a scanner if you need to scan the car.
Who are you talking about in Kapolei? I'm good with sounds. I'm on HCA as well and competing in the sound comp at Traffic Jam this Saturday. I build boxes too if you ever need one. Lmk if you need help with the sound system.
I'm wanting to do a projector retro fit as well and plan to go purple accents on my gp

@TLSheff also how do you scan your car o.o and how did you do that spoiler mod o.o

I work at a dealership and have access to borrow one of our several thousand dollar scan tools. I want to get a good reader but if you have a android cell phone there are bluetooth ODBII plug-in readers. Amazon/Ebay sells the ELM327 and they work well, the Kiwi reader is one of the "better" ones but its kinda pricey.

Any way to scan for knock that is easy is ideal. Just gotta be able to make sure you're not gonna blow **** up.

...and if by spoiler mod you mean the drainage mod with it lifted up a little... easy. Click me (Pics on page 2)
I bought a pack of rubber washers for garden hoses at Lowes/Home Depot. But any good thick rubber o-rings will suffice.
