Slow 1-2 Shift

It's been more apparent lately but under moderate acceleration the 1-2 shift is taking way too long, almost like a slipping but it pulls hard in first and hard in second once it shifts. Sometimes there's a jolt/bang if I'm on it during the hang up. My aeroforce has shown anywhere from 1500-2500ms shift time.. the rest look healthy.

Adjusting shift times or pressures in Hptuners doesn't help it any.

No codes and its not always doing it.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I guess bang isn't the best description, more of a looongg shift and a hard catch lol but ill check for codes for sure.. I assume my aeroforce can see trans dtcs?

Doesn't always do it though that's what's bugging me, trans has 140 probably about done just sucks it shifts and pulls fine except when it does this crap.

When she finally pukes and I pull it for a rebuild what all should I have done while it's done besides a shift kit?

Well..consider either the V8 chains or a 7/8". When the clutches are done, have them clearanced instead of just dropping in the number that GM says. Our baskets have no spec for how tight they should be and often when rebuilding..they have too much play.

Automatically new EPC, I'd suggest all the VB updates possible. Depending on desired power, maybe an input shaft.

After his last post, it might not be. Espeically if it's only that one gear. All gears is 1811 bang shift. Only one..may be something else, may not.

Yeah i read about the 1811 when searching nothing turned up exactly what I was experiencing.

It's like a feeling while shifting., of pushing in the clutch on a manual car and slowly releasing it and then catching doesn't feel like a slip (I've felt a 3/4 forward band slip until it didn't shift into them).. unless it's possible for slipping between gears.. I dont think I'll be doing any further mods until it's sorted out or the trans is rebuilt.

As long as I don't get on it until I'm in second it's fine

Doesn't need to be moderate acceleration because pulling through my work parking lot is lagged shifting Into second with a jolt/engage even with only maybe 10% throttle...

I wonder if I have some junk floating around blocking passage ways.

I had the very same issue and I cleared mine up with a combination of a pan drop, lucas, and a shift kit. Now it's lickety split. So that's something to chew on..

I know from some recent stuff I have read, that you had been messing with shift points and pressure stuff with your HP Tuners, perhaps something that you did has made it do this, try flashing back to the stock trans files and see if its the same. Might be worth a try.

lol first thing I thought was it's something I did haha. I did flash everything back to stock settings. no change.

I actually had figured this would be my best bet, I'd rather do that now before it gets worse. Cheaper then a rebuild..
