2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP needs jump to start after trans replaced

Ok so I just took my car in to get the trans replaced and the trans shop did that and sent it back to my grandpas shop where I took it in, but apparently they screwed something up and now my car wont start without a jump. They just sent it back to the trans shop to get checked out, but any ideas as to what the problem could be? This is majorly inconveniencing me, i need this fixed ASAP.

Batteries do go bad for no apparent reason just so your aware of that...

Or they left your key on and drained it completely and then blamo bad battery especially if it's older.

Verify it's charging once running, but if you have to jump it when you know charging is fine the battery is toast

Very unlikely the starter wasn't installed correctly

Possible bad ground on the block?

Just throwing some ideas out there

The battery isn't that old and i noticed no signs of it failing. I don't have the car rignt now so Im just going off what my grandpa is telling me but it sounds more like whatever is wrong has to do with the new trans installed. I doubt its coincidental it just started doing this after being installed considering it started fine before. But i dunno, I'm far from a car expert, I'm just hoping to maybe figure out something the mechanics missed so i can get them on the right track and get my car back.

have you check the voltage even at the batt to confirm issues? I would second bad connection(ground) on teh block near starter.

Well apparently they called GM and discovered that some module inside the trans wasn't programmed correctly. apparently it was showing it in gear even when it was in park and thats what was causing the car not to start. Thats what I was told anyways. They have to take it out now and fix it lol but I should have it back in a day or two at least.
