Cam specs?

is this something i could use hp tuners to tune myself or would i have to get a expensive dyno tune cause the closest dyno i know of is in tulsa (almost 4 hours away)

I am on here reading to much stuff at one time so... from what i have read i can get away with just swaping cams for a VS cam on a stock vavletrain...? Im kinda confused

Ok so I can get away with the VS cam with alittle better springs... sounds good to me now I just got to find springs and a cam

i picked up a PRJ LL for my new L26 based motor and didn't see any specs on the cam in this thread (or its possible i missed them, in that case my bad)

PRJ LL Cam

Duration @ .050" 214º/220º
Intake Lift .305" (1.6 Rockers .488, 1.8 Rockers .549)
Exhaust Lift .285" (1.6 Rockers .456, 1.8 Rockers .513)
ICA: 113°
LSA: 114°

okay so after reading this I'm a little confused, what would be the best cam for a car i want to daily drive but also run hard at the track on weekends? I dont understand the specifications of the cams, but I understand what they do and what the performance gains are. Any suggestions??

Pretty sure that is covered...everywhere.

Re: Cam specs.

If you don't understand the specifications then you don't understand what they do.
I understand what a cam does and the performance gains that come with it,I just cant quite decyfer the correct way to read the specs. I'm new to this kind of thing and i would rather figure this stuff out on my own and build a car than pay someone to build my car for me.

Not sure if I should ask this here or somewhere else, but what do stock heads limit you to? I know its somewhere in the 500 range, but was curious if anyone knows exactly what lift numbers are max for stock heads.

Re: Cam specs.

So remove the rocker arms and push rods do u have to pull the lifters out to install zzp vs cam

If you don't take the lifters out they will fall into the motor or can fall into the motor.

I don't think there are holes to put dowel rods in to hold the lifters up but I forget.
