What to buy Comp G or GTP

I've been looking for a new GP and I'm pretty set on an 04+. Now I'm wondering if i should hold out for a comp g. from what i know they have a beefier supension and 3.29s. How is the tranny with those gears? how much does it affect performance/ accel? hows it on gas?

overall is it worth it, or is it just mild differences?

I dont really care about the paddle shifters ( although they would be nice to have, not a make or break option though) or the painted calipers.

also is there any other differences that i dont know about?

the 3.29s are an awesome gear ratio to have for a DD.

other than that there isnt much appeal to buy one over a regular GTP.

hey i believe it was you that was talking about dropping it in some other thread i forget what you said exactly but i believe it was that with the better suspension its easier to run a medium drop spring without destroying teh struts, or something to that extent. Am I correct?
 


yeah i know it seems perfect, i emailed the dealship but got no response yet, hopefully its got some exhaust work done and no one else will want it.

im thinking its got to have something modded to be f/s @10k


id hate to re-open the wound but do you happen to have your old rims ZR1? im not a fan of the revamped trq stars

hey guys i think i found another Comp G. The thing is it was listed as a GTP, but i noticed the tap shift, hud controls, red calipers, and small badge on the door. I emailed the dealer and asked if it was a comp g or not and he replied that it was. the problem is the dealer is located a good ways away from me and i dont want to take the trip just yet because im not completely sure that its a comp g.

so my question is is there any visual way to confirm that it is truly a comp g and not a well equipped gtp? its an 04 btw

That is a Comp G. I can see the little rectangle Comp G badge in the middle of the drivers door. Besides, those are the optional Comp-G wheels on the car as well, red calipers, etc, that are only available on the Comp.

But keep in mind tho with an 04, you dont have the digital dual climate control (didnt show up till 05) and the 04's still had the plastic LIM gaskets. I see that car has only 40 some thousand, youd be good for a while anyways...

the climate control isnt a big factor for me, especially since its so damn hard to find comp gs after 04.

thanks for the heads up on the lim though, i didnt think they still had em
