This is the write up I used with my Monsoon system. Its pretty easy if you go to Radio Shack or a Fry's Electronics and get what you need.
There is also the Pac-audio plug you can buy, but installing the aux into the XM line was cheaper and a lot more fun.
    Cheers!

Only issue, I don't believe the car is equipped with XM, or a monsoon system. It currently has the stock stereo that doesn't have the 6 disc. I have one on the way that I found on eBay that needs to be unlocked for my VIN to work.

Will that cause an issue if it isn't set up with XM?

Are you getting a wiring harness with it? If so...
On the 6-disk monsoon there will still be XM wiring you should be able to tap into.

I am assuming no, I was told it was pretty much plug and play, except the issue of unlocking my VIN for it.

It should still have the XM option, I don't know anything about it being plug and play, but you should still be able to hook it up. You might have to look up the pin-out and see which pins use the XM lines and add the wires in on the plug.

Which shouldn't be too difficult. Is there any other option to adding an AUX jack that you know of?

I believe Pac-audio.com sells an adapter, but i've never used it

Adding the wires to the harness should be fairly easy, yes

Other than getting a head unit with an aux port? No.

EDIT: I lied lol. There are antenna adapters that allow you to switch between the antenna and an aux input -- they basically inject the sound into the antenna input. Same method as the PAC harness, just different point of injection. I personally use this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_469GM12...2.html?tp=1672 but I got it cheaper than that. I believe Crutchfield had it on sale at the time. Also, I don't have the Monsoon system so I'm not sure if it'll work with that particular head unit. You can always check on Crutchfield though.

Yea that adapter should work, but it says something about getting the radio programed to recognize the adapter.

Me or him? Lol I have my stock single-disc head unit.

Mine worked without any programming whatsoever. It just picked up the adapter as bands XM1 and XM2 (use the band button to switch sources), and on the unit itself it says Aux on the display.

I went to crutchfield and input my car with the monsoon and it said it was compatible, but there was a side note type of deal that mentioned in some cases it may need to be programed. But he has to have the radio unlocked for his vin anyhow, so i don't think it would be to difficult if it had to be programed for the adapter.

    That adapter is expensive.

I have done this in my 07 Grand Prix GT with the monsoon.

Precision Interface Electronics GM12-AUXv2 Connect a portable music player, satellite radio tuner, or DVD player to your factory GM receiver at Crutchfield.com

Plug in and play. You'll need to tap into the power (thicker yellow cable from the connector from inside of the car) and then get a RCA to Aux so you can play your tunes.

    Hope that helps,

    -Garrett

Go straight from the fusebox. NEVER take power from the head unit.

Any reason why? How would you hook it into the fuse box? My fuses are all on the passenger side of the car.

Well first off you'd be hacking up the factory wiring lol, then there's the fact that the head unit has a built in amplifier (non-monsoon). Also everyone I've ever talked to has said to never take power from the HU so there's that, but I can't speak to the credibility of such statements. Look up add a fuse on Amazon, and there's a big metal piece in the fuse box with a hole in it I use for a common ground. You can just run the wires through the bottom of the dash under the paneling, completely out of sight.
