zzp wires vs. prj wires...

2000GTP

i hae heard that both the zzp wires and prj wires are great for our car... now i am having trouble deciding between the two... zzp claims that they gained 5 hp on the dyno from using their wires... i am not sure about what the power gains are on the prj wires... but what do you guys think?

Neither one is going to make any kind of difference over stock.

But if your going to buy a set, purchase from PRJ.

What he said. You aren't going to notice a difference. I went with PRJ's for their durability and looks, cause **** is always going wrong with my car so I work on it alot. The stock wires perform well but they are just to fragile for a clumsy person like me.

Notice that they claim a 4-5 hp increase over MSD wires. They also used to say in their articles that they've documented a 4-5 hp loss with MSD wires from stock. Net gain = 0.

I would definitely suggest PRJ if you want to buy some. Like others, I bought them for look and durability. Never have to buy wires again, and the energy transfer couldn't be any more efficient. The bendable boots are great for making sure they clear the O2 sensor, and you can get rid of those crap aluminum boot shields that come stock.

I run the 8mm Taylor's myself, always have since 2001 never a problem.

I have dyno proven numbers that show the Taylors have a 15 WHP gain over stock!!!

If you believe that claim, like all the others, I also have some ocean front property here in Kansas I will sell you. ;)

But seriously...stock is fine, they were made to last 100K miles plus. Can any of the after market ones officially claim that? If all your wanting is something thats reliable and comes in pretty colors other than the stock gray...Taylors get my vote.

I run OReilly special Borg/Warner Lifetime Wires and replace them ever couple years or so (for free). They work great IMO. Once my first mods for my car when tuning it up was MSD 8.5mm Wires. I paid $70 for a set and they failed in only 9 months! I was pissed and got me some good OEM style wires with a Lifetime warranty. They've been trouble free, my first set last 3 years and SEVERAL plug changes (experimenting w/ heat range on plugs). If i set fails, I go to my local Oreillys, trade them out for free and i'm on my way.

As far as which wires, both are the same and you'll gain nothing but bling. If you want one or the other, get the PRJs because they are the original custom made "Race Wires" for our cars. ZZP copied PRJ much like they've copied many others ideas over the years.
