ZZP Voltage Booster

Anyone have a problem with there stage 1 voltage booster? I had mine for about 3 months and usually after the car sitting over night it starts up at about 15.3-6 volts.. Yesterday morning I go to my car it's raining and crappy and I start it up and it's at 13 volts long story short it charged after a while. I get pretty far away from home and stop at a light and hear this loudddd ass squealing like a pulley is jammed so I gun it and it stops! So I took the booster out I think it's just to much for some alternators.. Any stories? :th_nervous:

I have not had any issues with the one that I have. Same goes for my brother. Are you sure it was the alternator pulley making noise? I have seen an issue where it sounded like it was the alternator but it turned out to be the tensioner pulley on it's way out.

I'm not sure what it was BUT I have a voltage gauge installed in my car and when it happened my voltage dropped to 13.1 so I'd assume it was.. I'm not saying anything bad about the voltage booster but my alternator is 12 years old and basically what the booster does is has it run on over drive and I'd rather not chance it for the .6 volts I'd rather spend the cash I'd spend on replacing the alternator for a high output one and not need any boosters or rigs to have my voltage up lol

Did you go through a puddle before the squealing occurred? If I drive my car through a puddle that's deep enough, I get a huge squeal and my voltage drops, presumably because I get the belt wet.

I wouldn't worry about the voltage booster.

Welt belt....belt slip...alt no power outage

You're probably right about the belt slip.. Understood but why did I wake up and my car was basically dead until about a hour later? The volts slowly climbed until they reached reg levels I'm just paranoid I don't have the cash for a alt right now

No I had hit a puddle a big one and it was raining like crazy.. My only issue is that when I started the car it was at such low voltage.. Like the alternator was partially working or something just strange because I didn't drive the car for hours and while it was raining all night there's reason my alt should be messed up all I can think is the booster is causing stress to the alternator
