I need concreate answers here people....previouse experience only...not guessing....if it doesent fit and you said it would i'm going to be knocking at your door;)

Will a fullsize intercooler from zzp fit under my stock 99 gtp hood...if so what modifications have to be done if any

Thanks

Yes it will fit, unless you are running some form of spacers to raise your engine. A local friend just installed a S2 ZZP IC on his 98 GTP with a stock hood, it is close but it did fit. But don't quote me on that because I don't want you knocking on my door because your car is the exception to the rule ;)

Yes, it should fit. If it is fairly close, consider your hood another engine mount.

What fuel rails will you be running?

Got ya...what i may do is buy or cut a piece of (2 1/4'' if i can remember correctly...i will have to double check) wood the same length as the s/c and see if the hood will close....does anyone think there may be a better way of checking?

IDK,you tell me....I was planning on stock but if I have to run aftermarket for hood clearence (or for the fullsize to fit) then i will prob. just go with the ssic....I would like to install some aftermarket fuel logs but for 500.00 it may be a while...i just hate how the stock ones are designed....

Do they sell injector spacers for the fullsize or just the ss?

Are you going with the injector extensions or a new fuel rail? That's what will hit first. I have seen quite a few cars with the S2 IC and stock hood, I believe the aftermarket hoods is where they start running into problems depending on the hood you get. I have also seen cutting of the hood crossmember to make it fit.

I would like to keep stock if that is an option. I figured i could cut some of the crossmember out with my dremel if nessary. So i guess i will be going with the injector spacers.I have seen the ones for the ssic at zzp but i am assuming the ones for the fs are different correct? doess zzp sell those also??

I don't believe the inj spacers will work with anything bigger than a SSIC. There are cheaper option for fuel rails out there. Check out some of the vendors, I know that ZZP sells modified stock rails that will work with their S2 IC and I believe they are under $200. As far as checking for clearance you could get a bunch of playdough or something along that line and pile it on top of the blower, close the hood (and then reopen hood) and then measure how thick it is after being compressed by the hood. That should give you the exact dimension for clearance.

Yeah i think i did see some modified fuel rails for around that but wasent sure what they were used for...i'll check out zzp now for that....Good sugestion about the play-do...thanks

I donno, I wouldn't be suprised if it hit some, even without fuel rails running over the top of the blower, I've seen and talked with several S2 IC owners, most of them have there liners removed and they have some marks on the underside of there hood. Now if you're planning on running them over the top, you'll diffenatly hit and have marks.

Depending on the mounts it might cause the engine to tap against it. Ever notice how much it moves upon startup?

I got the polly upper mounts...I fixed that problem a long time ago. Good point though.

Just the uppers won't do much, the lower and the trans mount can help a lot too. I am going to be installing a s2 too with a stock hood once I find a good fuel rail setup to go with. I'm pretty confident it will fit but I'm all ears too!

Well i would love to see how much more the lower mounts would help because man i mean barley any movement at all right now.The stock uppers are so weak i could move my engine frontward/backward with very very little effort.

Within about a week to a week and a half i should know if i am going to be getting the s2ic any time soon....so i may be you test dummy lol...i'm going to see if i can mod my fuel rails myself somehow

Just for the record on my 99gtp with stock hood and stage 2 fullsize zzp ic and prj fuel rails...it fits fine with no hood rubbing issues at all

o so you got it on hahhh..did a big hammer come into play?? ha. glad you got it on tho, no problems at all?? not under full throttle?? drimel :) glad you got it all workin tho, im gonna see that car sooner or later..how does she run??

I forgot to mention solid polly upper mounts. No rubbing at all....The car....lets just say this...I never thought i would be so impressed from the results of modding a v6....it's a beast....going to the track this friday with it

:) right on. sounds like i need to get to work. i hate being slower. hummm 13.4-13.5?? and did you get all the tuning worked out??
