well seeing as this is the rant forum,i'll put this here.

My car is a total PIECE OF SH!T !!!!!!,i got here(PA) thinkin i had a decent car..well nope body is too shot.So well i thought least it will last me till i get another car..wrong again!!.The exhaust has a hatred of me that must stem from some horrendous crime against it because as if it wasnt obnoxious enough with the down pipe broken..somethin else up in that area today broke apperantly cuz it wenr from "annoying" loud to "make me wanna douse the f*cker in gas and light it up like a flare* loud...so now to make it bearable to drive at all i have to go to a local shop to get em to just cob job somethin up w/ is gonna cost me $ i wanna put twords another car....ik pontiac is usually a decent brand but,mine musta been one of those "friday" cars cuz its soooo full of problems its amazing it lasted as long as it did -_-...F*CK!!!!!!!

dude, i feel like i've spent more money fixing things that break than what i originally paid for the car 7 years ago.. grand prix's are money pits.
 


Get a Regal. Had mine for 2 years and the only thing I've had to replace is the front hub and I beat my car senseless.
 
doesnt matter what car it is. sometimes you get a lemon. sometimes you get a freak. i havent had to do anything to my gp and i drive it like a 16 year old. ive also driven a 96 chevy truck that crapped out at 112k miles and i know for a fact that the vortecs were almost invincible so i ended up with a lemon. dont let one bad experience ruin it for you.
 
no its a lemon cuz of everything..the body,the motor,the exhaust..to fix EVERYTHING on it,it would cost wayyyy more than the cars worth,sooo in my mind its freakin lemon.
 


the exhaust is probably one of your flanges rusting, causing a leak. it probably rusted all the way through. my guess is right before the res.

nope unfortunetly,when i bought the car it didnt have a res on it,just a strait pipe and it was broke after that flange so i went and bought a res and had it installed so that parts fine..its up near the manifold were the noise it.
 
You bought a pos. It's nto the car's fault. Overall it rolled off the line the same as every other car. The caring and feeding of a car over years and where it's parked/treated has a lot to do with it.

Factory exhaust has a high stainless content which is why it lasts a long time. Once that was cut and mild steel was welded in...it was a matter of a couple of years before it rusted through. Don't blame the car for the abuse the previous dickbag gave it blame the dickbag. Then ask yourself if you could have looked it over better and made a better decision.

I can tell you what it is. I have a 06 and mine did the same thing. It is the flex pipe right where it connects to your manifold and starts heading south its a pain in the ass to figure out where it is. I looked for like 2 days trying to find the hole in mine. Ended up being about a half in. wide tear in the flex pipe. I just replaced my hole dp but you can just have them weld it up shouldn't cost a hole lot. Don't feel bad I have a lemon too 4 tranys so far plus sway-bars ball-joints hub bearings I could go on for days lol. Jack it up and look at your flex pipe you will prolly find your hole.
 
Well you can always take a lemon and make lemonade, that way all of the girls on your block can get a taste. In our case the girls would be Honda's, and the lemonade would be what the kid's pants in the Honda's look like after you go blowing by them while there on it!!!
