Yup another Seafoam thread

So I've searched but can't find anything helpful. My car is a 98 Gt with only 60K. But I do mostly short trips though a city to get to and from work. Rarely expressway but sometimes going out to my parents there's nice stretched of 55 mph roads. I've read though that short trips will cause the most carbon build up.

My plan is either a full can in the gas tank and brake booster or half in each depending on what people here recommend. I know not to put it in the oil. After doing it though I will change the oil though because it'll be about do by that time anyway. I also know that someone neds to keep the engine rev'd around 2K the whole time. Do I shut the car off at any point?

Now here's my biggest problem. The brake booster line. Can someone attach a picture of this? Looked on google but can't find anything that makes me feel confident enough to just go ahead and do.

I also want to clean the TB. Is this done best taking it off or can I use the seafoam spray and will that do the trick?

If you did it through the intake, it might be wise to change the plugs after. IF it had lots of build up it could get on the spark plugs as it's being burned off.

I'd just stick a full can through the gas tank and run a second fuel injector cleaner aswell, that can help clean things up aswell.

As for the line itself, it's just to the left of the master cylinder/fill res, you can't miss the 1/2in hose sticking out of the black booster.

And the TB, you would want to remove it to clean it the best. You'll need/want a new throttle body gasket and you might lose 1-2 oz of coolant, so don't worry about that.

Alright so can in tank, can in brake booster line, skip the spray, remove the TB to clean, and also put some fuel injector cleaner in there as well. That sounds simple enough.

So what's the deal with the whole car stalling. I've read that it should happen but others say it shouldn't and to just keep revving the engine. I have zero first hand experience with this and there's so many opinions and videos of people doing this I'm trying to sift through the right and wrong. I figure people who have done them on these engines will be more helpful than someone on youtube doing it on honda or something.

I wouldnt use a full can through the brake booster line, just 1/3 to 1/2.

It's kinda simple, just takes the right timing to try and make it stall but it likely wont. So as you have the person holding the revs at 2,000 rpm, remove the booster vacuum line and stick a small funnel in it, then slowly start pouring it in there. Once you've done about half as much as the intend to do, quickly dump the rest and have the person let off the gas at the same time. It will suck the rest down quickly and sometimes stall the motor or sound like it wants to stall. If it doesnt stall right away, just shut it off and let it sit for 15-20min.

Go ahead and restart it after that time, it will likely start hard. Rev it a bunch and wait for the smoke to stop, it will smoke alot if there is carbom build up and won't if it's fairly clean.
