You guys think I could take an 01 Cadillac STS



how is a cadillac lame? isnt it over a gtp? and isnt its trans bigger than ours? hmm bonneville has the n* buick luceren does to. they have upgrades for them just very costly. gtp is cheaper to mod but never call something lame just because you dont have it or understand it. lol pull up at a mall in a gp and holla at some women and let somebody pull up in a cadillac hmmmm think you will be mad lol. not being two sided just speaking in a unbias way. and you'll learn the hard way since you think sincei ts not a v. lol wish my bf still had his and he shouldve took it to the track so i can post numbers. but hell he made the 5.3 wbodies mad lol so keep thinking theyre slow.

I said arguing about stock for stock was lame and you getting defensive about it is even lame-ER.

LOL Maybe you missed it, but I don't "holla" at women. And I'm not trashy enough to try and pick up chicks at a mall. I have standards, but thanks for trying to make me look bad. I don't care about your boyfriends old Caddy...they aren't made to mod. I understand the situation 110%, again, thank you...They are quick V8 luxury cars from the factory, that's it. A L67's potential puts a Northstar to fu*cking shame. All your talk about this 4t80 transmission blahblahblah, its there for a reason...it is more heavy duty to deal with all the weight, more "FACTORY" torque output, and to haul all the fat asses around that buy Caddilac's. If your going to compare a car to a GTP, get something in its class to talk about luxury and such...not performance...because even a stock GTP outperforms a old STS in my book...maybe not by numbers, but I'd rather have a Supercharged 3800 anyday. If you like them so much just go buy one if they're so much better than your GTP. Numbers? Try 15's. I'd bet 20 bucks toward your valve job that it wouldn't touch 14's. Oh, and speaking of valve jobs...85 horsepower from a 5 angle? Get real. Maybe 50 horsepower from CAM and HEAD work...but no one goes that far on a Northstar...you know why? Because for the money it is pointless and people sell them to get real cars to mod.

And...just for your information, even the pre-gen CTS-V's weren't that fast...I beat multiple ones on the street. But then again, I'll learn the hard way.
 
Wow and I thought all this and racing was for fun! We MOD cars for FUN. If not why do we mod in the first place? Most people dont have the money to MOD, thats why they look for cars that are also stock to "play". I do it all the time! A eclipse GS-T has the same nubers as our cars stock. Is it in the same class NO! Is our modded GTP fast as a C-5 Corvette, Maybe. Is it in the same class? Hell No! So our cars stock are classified as "quick" and so is the caddy. So I agree with both of ya... Its lame, but fun..... LOL...again my 2 cents.....
 
I raced a STS a few years back. Most GP's top out at 180kmh the STS was still running at 255kmh. I was running my Thunderbird super coupe and rolled into 5th gear and left him sitting cold. Now, my GXP, it impresses the hell out of me. I'm not sure but I think it would give my 94 trans-am a run. Of course the GXP tops out at 200kmh and I have had the T/A at 250kmh and it still wants to run
 


who said i was mad? im not typing in caps now am i? people have thier opinoins same way most people on here dont like 20 inch rims. thats you and your titled to your opinion. but like i said and will say get on the highway and race 1 and see who wins. i love gtps but we have no topend stock. damn 3.0 accords can beat my car up top. so hey thats why i want some work done to my lil car. but enough of the talking lets get back on topic. if i offended you excuse me.


and we raced a gxp and impala ss with 5.3s and left them after 40 mph so i guess dts is faster than sts's. i dont know and wouldnt make any of this up for cool points thats lame. but i agrre on the price to mod a caddy vs gtp. hell i think a gtp is the cheapest/fastest american sedan.

I have a 06' Monte SS with the 5.3L (pics on Montecarloforum.com). Its quick but not as fast as I thought. I then bought my GTP as a daily driver. I let my buddy drive my GTP and I drove the SS. Id have to say the GTP kept up until 40 but by 70 I had about a half a car lenth on him. Ive had more trouble with my Monte SS than the GTP. Not sayin that yur lyin but the SS's are known bad DOD's...Steering racks, tie rod ends...(Think I got a bad apple)ect. My buddy with the caddy (master caddy mechanic) knows better than to run with the SS. Thats why he wanted to run with the GTP.
 
well his dts was slighty modded but basic bolt ons. and the ss was stock, gxp had intake. but im sorry to hear your issues with your ss, my gtp is a piece of work to my axle is slinging grease,my moyor mounts are broke, my suspension is ruff(whoever had it b4 me put energy suspension pieces on it),my trunk leaks wtf,my doors leak,my cowl use to leak. my dic zeros out sometimes. but i still love her. oh and for the record i beat my bf momsd cts lol(even though the plugs had oil on it that day)mine ran perfect that day. he was talking $hit so i took off he chased me i slowed down to let him catch up then he got beside me and i pulled on him lol, he made an excuse but i think even with it running right i will win up to like 100 then it'll pass me but hey a wins a win

The door leaks must be a common thing as well on the w-bodies. Both leak on my cars...wierd....Nice kill on the CTS!!!
 


it depends on the condition of the cars.I think a fresh kept up condition gtp can roll with a sts,sts definitely isn't a slouch but I have a car club as we speak I have a 00 sts and a 00 gtp,they haven't ran yet but my friend has a 07 hyundai sonata v6 and he beat the sts by a car stock to stock and the sonata and gtp r both even so idk!
 
i got beat by a tiburon lol, the car really doesnt downshift when your over 40mph. i bet a tune will fix that issue i bet if we raced offf takeoff i wouldve won. but sts is cool but the pre 2000 caddies had more agressive cams (he just told me this) and the shifts are different ie they dont electronically control the power, like the dts power fades between shifts, the concours doesnt it launches harder they must've did it for smoothness. but i bet if they tuned/ put emphasis on those cars like ours (gtp/w bodies)they would be rockets. i love the l67 just wish it was dohc. those are his words not mine. and he said something about the gears are 3:71 or 3:73s, and the fwd sts seem to be faster than the n/a rwd sts. the daytona r/t charger beat a rwd v8 sts on youtube, and i was in the car one nite we ran away from a lime green r/t charger. doesnt the gxp beat the 5.7 hemis?
