Yes another kill story but....a GTP

So on my way from work again last nite and i see blueish headlights that look similar to mine and what do you know its a dude in a "grand prix" same color as mine also debadged and 2 door with dark tinted windows like a twin lol.So he gets next to me and floors it real quick and i confirmed it as a GTP cuz of that distinct SC whine. So i get behind him and he knows the deal i follow him as he floors it and i gotta say he had half a car on me til about 60 and i was reelin him in a lil. Then we get side by side goin from a 40ish roll and i get the jump and put about half a car on him and we go til about 85 i look behind im actually keepin pace from him. So we get to a red light and he gives me a thumbs up sayin my car hauls ass for bolt ons and i say im just a GT bro i heard that whine though sounds good. So he tells me he has a 3in downpipe, AL104s and tuned. i tell him my mods then we line up for a dig race and to my surprise i get a nice jump on him puttin almost a car on him and it takes him sometime to close the gap prob around 70ish he was near my door.It was a good race ill say so we exchanged numbers and chat for a bit he tells me he just moved down here and hes had a 93 and a 96 gp both with swaps and he knows some tuning stuff.So im glad i was able to bump into a local and we plan on doing meets with a regal GS guy ive seen before around my town.The end :cool:
 


Yea he said he dosent know too much but knows fueling and MAF tuning.He plays around with it on his car. Ill see if he can help me when i top swap. Hes got some vids on youtube too delawaregp is his name there.
 


almost full bolt on gt vs stockish gtp is drivers race really, gear ratio also helps. and it can be done for cheap as long as you wait for deals.

I have to agree that his tune must not be that great if a GT (albeit modded) beat out a GTP. From 0-40 I get but pretty impressive that you were keeping up/beating him past 40.

But either way nice kill. :th_thumb-up:
 


99pg his name is alex.He is on clubgp he told me. But yea i mean i was surprised no lie.and Matt to get technical he did say it use to be a GT but swapped a whole GTP setup tranny included into that car.So its original GT but the heart of a GTP.
 


Im calling rematch, haha And I wish my window's were tinted and... im a 4dr i wish i was a coupe. =p Nice run though we need a rematch and a camera for these guys next run.

You did pwn on me from a dig, wtf happend to me haha got a little excited no traction for shiat, full WOT @ launch = ****! Not putting excuses but we need to establish that mini meet though soon. But we do need a camera to record this.

Nice ride overall, and nice setup you have going on, top swap for the win. Also the 93 octane tune was in there while my dumbass was trying to save a few pennys and pumped 89 octane, only diff. there is... kr but im running 16* of timing, 3" dp high flow, straight pipe back, AL 104's, HAI, umm... That local regal is running 3" dp 3" catback 3.4 pulley, hai, and idk what plugs he has, he has a 3800performance tune and a shift kit he told MEEEEE that he was dyno'n 340whp i think which is obviously BS! lol So we may have to beaware of a bull****ter. =)
