• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

WTF?! My tach went out.

Ok, I'm just cruising at 60, and the tach drops with a stutter from the front. No problems on the ~5 miles past that. What would cause this to happen? 158k on a 2000 Grand Prix GT, no internal mods or power adders, just a DIY open cone. I can fix any problem that arises, so I just need to know what would cause that failure. Any advice is openly accepted.

could be a crank sensor. it may start to randomly stall out on you too.

did the tack come back to life when restarted?

best bet if your going to restart it. restart it at home were all the tools are lol i know that not much help but save you from having to get it towed home

they seem to act up for a good long while before they leave you stuck.

most of the time you pull over if it stalls out, and it will restart.

Ok, thank god, when I went out to try and start it, it reset and came back to life. I'll definitely be doing my tune-up soon then, and replacing the crank sensors.
