WTF, Car will only shift between N and D now!

First off, I've did some searching and I've mostly found cars not being able to shift OUT of park. "Not sure if it's the same problem just reversed" But anyways, two days ago I tried to put the car INTO Park it was not happening!! I could shift into (1,2,3,D,N and R) but no park, was fine for a day until tonight, now I can only shift between D and N. The car is currently in the driveway (in Neutral) with the emergency brake on a wheel chock. I had to use a pen to push the botton under the steering wheel to get the key out.
Can anyone walk me through what the hell I'm supposed to fix, of is there a cheapo way to fix this (like zip tie something down???)
 


How loose is your shifter handle? Sometimes if it pops up slightly you cannot get the car into park. Smack it down a bit and see what happens. This happened to me once and was due to the shifter knob itself being shifted upward.

Took the center console apart today and checked everything out, besides tons of dirt, everything looked good. Pressed the plastic shifter "button" and was able to shift into park, im thinking my shift knob did infact shift up slighty and was not able to push the shift button down fully.
