• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Anyone else in to building furniture/cabinets/tables type stuff? I’ll post up pics of recent projects later, a little buzzed right now (good beer, not alcohol crap). Lol

yup! its my therpy sessions. :) i used to have a 26 by 36 heated shop( i called it my shop with attatched living quarters) that i did a lot of work out of. entertainment centers, computer desks- pretty much whatever people asked if i could build EXCEPT kitchen chairs. i never got into them. that work was mostly for people from downstate that had "cabins" up north.
did LOT od auto repair out of it,too. back then i lived in an area that had very little disposable income. when people needed car repairs they couldnt afford the mechanic so i was turning wrenches quite often. i got a LOT of good meals out of that.
my shop now is a LOT smaller. 16 by 22. i dont have the room to build big stuff. the largest ive gone so far in the last 5 years is a blanket chest. i do quite a bit of scrollsaw fretwork also. couple clocks i kicked out that ill figger out how to post pics of later.

ya have a favorite species of lumber to work woth?

I’m a sucker for a natural pine color. Most of the stuff I build uses pine. I let the customer/friend them see it raw and choose their stain. I’ll take some pics here in a sec.

This is the latest piece. She wanted a coffee/booze hutch for the kitchen.
