Windstar Signal Mirrors on 03 Grand Prix - YouTube

This task, which seemed simple when first researching turned into quite a hard one lol. Took me a while to do but looks awesome! I found the idea from this forum but there were no instructions anywhere (that i could find) on how to accomplish this lol. Anyways, turned out well. Wat do you guys think?

:th_peaceout:

so you gonna do a write up?

am i right in assuming you just swap the glass and tap the blinkers

I might get around to it one day. only ****ty part is i finished it, so i wont have pics along the way. And yes you are correct. Drivers side mirror needs to be cut down though.

i've been thinking about the muth pods. because even if i screw up i loose heated mirrors. lol

I never even looked into them. Are they crazy expensive? i spent about 25 bucks on this mod lol and im happy

Curt..did you happen to take any pics of the back of the windstar mirrors?

I've been putting the Caddy pods I mention in my writeup into existing mirrors. If the pods are available on say ...anything else. There's likely no problem with putting them onto existing mirors. Then if the heat element is a straight line, you only loose that line.

To me, adding onto the mirror and running the wiring is easier than having the glass cut down.

Ahh shark racing. Those led's look kinda poopy lol. But it seems easy enough to do :)

No i did not take any pictures along the way. I was just rushing trying to get it done so i could have my car back together lol. Thats cool though. I never saw that writeup. Getting the mirror cut down wasnt really a big deal. I traced the old mirror onto this one and brought it to a near by glass shop. 2 minutes and 5 dollars later it was cut down to almost perfect size.

ya kinda gotta rip it off lol, push the mirror all the way to one side, put finger inside and pop it off, the plastic part with the glass stuck on it, from the back side there are 3 holes to push the glass off the plastic part.

to re install the glass, i removed the 3 screws that hold the power motor to the mirror housing, snap the plastic part that the mirror is glued to back on. you can now re install the motor and plastic part back in the housing. the holes you used to pop off the glass allow you to get the screws put back in, then attach the wires to the glass, (if heated) and glue the mirror back on.
