Window tint.

So my rear window tint is uber purple and has bubbled to the point of making the window damn near impossible to see through. Would it be easier to remove the tint, or replace the window?

^^^

spray the **** out of it cover the entire window with a black trash bag, let sit in sun, should literally almost fall off

seen vids where steam worked well. also the wet trash bag in the sun worked well on tape as well.

if its bubbled up it should come off easy.

The guy who tinted my car mixes 50/50 with Formula 409 and Windex. He said this takes the glue off easy. I also bought some adhesive remover from my local paint and body supply shop that worked great on tint and graphix on the side of the car. I used this stuff on a sunfire I had many moons ago.

A steamer removes it very very easily heats it up to the point the glue comes off with the tint. When we had removals before we stopped doing tint that's how we did it.

yeah i think most of my windows are good but my front has so many teeny tiny rock chips that glare is out of control

i was told by Safelite if the chips are darker in color that they can be filled with their resin, but if they are just small chips you are on your own. What does your insurance say about replacing the windows? I have a $100 glass deductible.

i dropped full coverage when i paid it off so no go there. it's at least a few hundred tiny chips so i think it's past the point of no return lol.

we kept full coverage on both vehicles. Mine is an 03 GT with 138k and the wife drives an 02 Venture with 212k on it. We keep full coverage on them for reasons like this.
