Window Tint Set Time

Hey Everyone,

I posted a question on Facebook the other day about what to mod on my 08 GP. The options range from Window Tint, LED Taillights, Headunit or Headlights. My question for you GP "Experts" deals with the Window Tint. I was told by a few individuals that I should wait to get the Window Tint because it needs a couple days to "set" properly. I live in Wisconsin and this week it's Effin COLD!!! Due to how cold and unpredicable the weather is, should I wait to get my windows tinted to Spring or is it safe to have them done now?

I had mine done in the middle of winter. Just wait 5 days to roll the windows down instead of 3, also let the car sit in the sun light as much as possible.

I wont do window tint in the winter cause I cant guarantee people it will stick properly. There have been a few weeks with 35+ temperatures lately....id do it then at the very least. This weeks gonna suck for sure though

So I'm assuming the thought on this is to wait to it gets warmer, approximately around the temp of 40's or 50's? Thanks for the quick respons guys. I guess I will save the money and use to to buy a suit or a new computer or just buy those LED's :):)

But then again some places use heat guns to make it stick betterr...plus if they give you a life time warranty they will cover if it falls off during winter

ive had 5 different cars tinted at 5 different places. not 1 person said the same thing as the other.

I had mine tinted on Tuesday. I was wondering this too, but i used google and chat.
Tint was done in Schofield, WI 35ish degrees out.
The Guy said to wait 3 days to roll down the windows.
I looks great so far. DO NOT do it yourself, let a pro do it.

There is no way I would tint the Grand Prix windows myself, the car is way to "precious" for that haha. E IN v Y, how much did it cost you to have it done in Schofield? If it's cheaper than the place up by Green Bay I might give it a thought....

I just had mine done yesterday, and we are in similar weather right now. (Iowa). Its not a big deal, just dont roll the windows down until all the water marks have disipated, or atleast 5 days. I park mine in a heated garage over night, and cranked the heat up to 70 last night. This morning, it was nearly all the way dry. I would say by saturday mine will be fully dry and set.

**I paid 220.00 to have all 5 windows done. front and rear sides, and back window. The local shop wanted 310.00 to do it with 3M film, but I have a buddy that manages that same store and he did it on the side with Johnson lifetime film for 220.00**
