Will a 98 gtp tranny work in my 99 gtp?

I have a 1999 GTP with 143000 miles and am having issues with the transmission. I have found a 99 GTP transmission with 20k miles and was wondering if they will interchange? I have been told by GM dealer they are different part numbers, and some of the electronics maybe different. Can anyone give me some insight on this please?
 


98-99 Should be fine as long as it has the threaded cooler line fittings and aren't the quick connect style.
