wideband and DHP



I have the UVScan files but can't get them to actually install for the life of me. I double click "install" but it gives an error like "Error: RSVP369 not in registry". Am I missing something on the install? I am using XP. Any special install instructions?
 
You migh have to delete all the uvscan files and start over. What version of uvscan are you tryin to run? There are three but only the first one actually works. I have also seen where if your DHP doesn't have it's cable interfaced that uvscan won't install. How this helps.
 
I don't know why it wasn't installing but I totally dumped it, redownloaded it, reinstalled it an it's good now. Thanks for the computers 1101 idea. Don't know why I didn't try that before. I'm using the 10_18_?? version. The UVScan3 wouldn't work well enough for my liking. Thanks.

Now time to connect the WB to it. Thanks for that write up too!

here is my writeup i did. DHP's data logger is very buggy and looses data. so if you aren't already using UVscan you really should change. you can data log by using the A/D inputs on the DHP but that gets messy with wires. this writeup explains how to tap in to the EGR connector and log the wide band thru it.

Thanks for the info but I'm not sure the egr method will work for hooking up the wideband since my egr system is still functional. That's why I was going to log with the DHP though the analog connection. Is their any other way besides disabling my egr?

The analog input on DHP is finicky. Usually freezes up within a minute or two on all the units I've tried on.
Best way is through EGR, but you still need the math to convert the 5v signal to an AFR.
Someone else might know the equation, unfortunately I don't.
 
Equation is easy to find but easy to figure out. Most wb's read 10-20afr. And the output is 0-5v. So you double the output voltage and then add 10. So you get an eq of AFR=2(voltage)+10. The next step is to adjust the equation for voltage drop from wire resistance and alt output. Most WB have their own gauge you can watch. Compare the scanned afr to the afr on the wb gauge. To adjust the scanned afr change the +10 either more or less to make them the same. Mine is something like 2(v)+9.8. Hope this helps
