:eek: So I just got got back from PRJ. Still KNOCKIN. WTF. I guess I'm gonna try even colder plugs and pulley up to a 3.6. I guess I just got a retarded GTP. Maybe I will ask Santa for an Intercooler this year. Anyone have a direct line to him?
 


I think I forsee some SSAC headers in my near future. On a side note maybe I will get some zzp headers with there "black friday sale". Also, he had a 97 out there with stock manifolds and only a 3"dp and 3.4 pulley with no knock!!!
 
Methanol injection might kill that knock (boost octane)
- 5 gph devils own nozzle installed in the throttle body in a vacuum line that is unused.
- 100 psi pump (I would use the 3 gph with 200 psi pump)
- 5 psi on switch
- fuel evap solenoid before the pump to prevent siphoning (junkyard)

summer 30 % methanol, winter 40-50% methanol for windshield
 


lower your timing. why would PRJ give the car back still knocking? i would have lowered the timing so it didnt knock no matter what.

also, how much knock? 1-2*? 4-6*?
 
12* of timing. 4* of knock. Spent all day out there with him tuning. If PRJ is scratching his head it must be something goofy. He knows his ****!!!!! knocking when getting into any boost. Wideband @ 11.3 WOT. Tried it @ 11.6. a little rich to help kill the KR.. The car wants more fuel. I can post logs if he will email them over to me. Fuel pressure is good! Checked that. NO vacuum leaks. About 9.5 PSI of boost at the shift. 93 Octane in the tank. Paul seems to think I am boost stacking. I don't believe headers are the answer! when I see a 97 with the same setup on stock manifolds NOT knocking I think it is something else. Guys over there with The most extreme setups you have ever seen said my mods should EASILY cover a 3.4 pulley!!!!!!!!!!!!

you do know that 11.6 is leaner than 11.3, right?

also, put less boost on it. you should have the stock pulley still with like 18-20* of timing. it would romp your knocking 3.4 setup.
 


Yes I know. It is set NOW @ 11.3. I might have sounded a little unclear on that last post. I'm gonna throw the 3.8 back on tomorrow and see what kind of KR I get. Also gonna drop in 103s
 
That sucks, go headers. I have the same setup except I have a ported blower and stock tune with no knock. Every car is different.

I'd hope so...put a 3.6" on there if you've got it. And since its free...hog out your front manifold. It'll help it flow a bit better for FREE...did I mention it won't cost you anything? Did those for a guy with a L67 Monte...heat treated with 2000* black coating. Took me about an hour to the front and rear...
