Who makes/sells the best SD Hood?

I hope I'm posting this in the right section.

I tried a few searches and couldn't find any answers. I'm hoping someone can help shed some light on this for me.

Does anyone know who sells the best quality SD hood's for the '97-'03 GP?

If anyone has some detailed pictures they could share, that would be awesome.

I've found 3 different companies so far that sell them, but not sure if they are all from same manufacturer, ect.

“SD” Ram Air Hood: 3800 Performance

SD Grand Prix Ram Air Hood - PFYC.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. If anyone close to the Upstate NY (Queensbury) area has a used one they are interested in selling, please let me know. I am willing to travel a few hrs. for a pick-up as well. Thanks again!

Well I think that these places just sell them, not make them. Go with PFYC, I got inlays there, fast shipping etc.

I beleive ASCD makes the hoods sold @ all three of those websites. Not sure who makes the CF Super Duty versions though. I had it, I loved it, I smashed it :(

Considering its available thru 3 different companies. I would contact the 3 and find out if they are all originally made from that company. If that is the case I would then figure which would have the best shipping (don't want cheap shipping and a damaged hood to come in the mail) and go with the cheapest, bestest deal.

Research is free.

Also notice that PFYC.com ships the hoods/spoilers/etc... on a pay the freight guy basis. That should be considered too, you don't want to order and then get surprised by a fed-ex driver with a bill.

Just my 2 cents :th_thumbsup-wink:

Its cheapest through AmericanSportscardgn.com @ $525 for the hood itself & around $124 shipping depending on where you live. Has decent fitment. Decent....

American Sports car makes them for all sites.

Thanks guys!

I guess this would make sense. Looking over thier site, they make all thier own fiberglass parts, so they must be the supplier to all the others. They sell it the cheapest, too. Also makes sense, seeing how the people who make it should be able to sell it the cheapest.

I have one that I may part with fir the right price..

Im in MA

You suck and I hate you for being so close and it already being silver :th_crying1:

one day.... ONE DAY!!!! :p

I hope you haven't been storing it like that for a long time...

I would love to know why you cant leave a hood like this???

Honestly its been on the roof of the car just move it there for the picture..

I want 500 for the hood if I dont sell it I will just use it for next years project car. For the last two years I have been doing GPs every year. This year is a 97 coupe..

Just because it has been painted and fitted to a car doesnt mean it will fit your car perfect withou having some work done. I bought mine from somone thinking the same thing and it fits far from perfect and would have cost 3 or 4 hundred to get it to fit perfect. Unless you are willing to drop 2 grand on one of these hoods dont expect it to fit like the stock one does. Mine looks great from afar but there are gaps above the headlights and the body lines dont match where the hood and fenders meet. All im saying is dont expect perfection unless you spend the cash on the body work new or used hood.
